Las dos oraciones significan lo mismo. Cul es la diferencia entre ellas entonces?.
Simplemente es una cuestin de actitud y perspectiva del interlocutor. El grado de probabilidad
que se atribuye al primero ejemplo es bastante ms alto que el segundo.
Las oraciones condicionales de 2 tipo se forman con la correspondencia verbal Past SimpleConditional Simple
If she invited me, I would go to her party (si ella me invitara, ira a su fiesta)
Past Simple1 Conditional Simple
En realidad, aunque la proposicin introducida por If tiene el verbo en pasado simple, esta forma verbal
corresponde a un pretrito imperfecto de subjuntivo ( invitara o invitase).

En el caso del verbo to be, la forma que se emplea en la proposicin subordinada es were para
todas las personas.
Adems de would, existen una serie de verbos con su propias formas verbales para el tiempo
condicional. Could/ might2 (podra).
Ej: If you fought for it, you could get it( si lucharas por ello, podras conseguirlo)
If you fought for it, you might get it (si lucharas por ello, podras conseguirlo)
PRACTICE
Could y might se traducen por podra, pero could hace ms bien referencia a la capacidad o habilidad,
mientras que might aade el matiz

- If he gets up early, he will not be late (Si se levanta temprano, no llegar tarde)
- If he got up early , he would not be late (si se levantara temprano, no llegara tarde)
- If he had got up early, he wouldnt have been late ( si se hubiera levantado
temprano no habra llegado tarde)
If he had got up early, he wouldnt have been late, es un ejemplo de las oraciones
condicionales de 3 tipo. Estamos hablando de una situacin en el pasado, en la cual no se
cumpli la condicin, ( l no se levant tarde) y como consecuencia tampoco se pudo cumplir
la accin en la oracin principal (lleg tarde).

3rd type
Si el verbo de la oracin principal en este tercer tipo est en negativa, la partcula not se
aade al primer auxiliar.
Ej: If you had told me the truth, I wouldnt have got angry with you
He couldnt have succeeded, if Paul hadnt helped him
