Phrases 1 Enter programming Mode 1. 2. Connect your motor and receiver to the speed controller, but do not connect the battery yet. Turn on your transmitter and move the throttle stick to the full throttle position (full up). Please Note: Most Futaba transmitters have the throttle channel reversed by default. 3. Connect your battery and the controller will initialize with a musical tone.

Phrases 2 Programming After 3 seconds, the controller will start beeping a sequence of tones a musical tone followed by one or more beeps. Each sequence represents a parameter that you can program and is repeated 3 times. The parameters are:

Music Tone + 1 Beep Music Tone + 2 Beeps Music Tone + 3 Beeps Music Tone + 4 Beeps Music Tone + 5 Beeps Music Tone + 6 Beeps

Options 1. Cell Type and No. of Cells Options 2. Throttle Setting Options 3. Brake Setting /Throttle type (for Heli) Options 4. Direction and Cutoff Type Options 5. Timing Mode Options 6(PWM) Setting

I have made some changes to the instructions to better understand them and because they are set up for stick type transmitters. I have simplified by making them relevant to pistol grip transmitters. Please make sure to read and fully understand these instructions before attempting to change any of the default settings on the ESC. If you get confused and change something without understanding the instructions it will be impossible for you to know what you changed since the ESC does not tell you what parameters have been changed. The biggest thing is to know how to count and keep memory of what parameter you are programing by the number of beeps you hear. Its very simple to do. Just pay attention. Step 4 is a bit redundant to step 3 but making sure to save your settings is important.
Step 1. Entering Sub-optins. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO PROGRAM THE ESC WITH THE MOTOR OUT OF YOUR BOAT OR REMOVE THE BOATS PROPELLER TO PREVENT INJURY. While holding full throttle, plug in power to your ESC. You will hear an initial 3 quick beeps, followed by 3 more fast beeps ( also known as the described musical tone) and 1 short beep. This means ( 2 sets of 3 fast beeps while holding full throttle) that the ESC is now in program mode. The short beep after the musical tone (3 fast beeps) is parameter 1, cell count. If you do not release the trigger the ESC will go through all 6 parameters and end up back at 1 without changing a thing. TO ABORT PROGRAMING MODE SIMPLY UNPLUG ESC WHILE STILL HOLDING FULL THROTTLE. Nothing will have been changed. Step 2. Entering individual sub parameters. Release the trigger to neutral position when you hear the sequence of beeps for the parameter you wish to program (3 fast beeps or musical tone followed by 1-6 long beeps. See chart above). The throttle position should be at the Center Position of your pistol grip radio to Enter Sub-options. The ESC will then start beeping a Morse code sequence of short and long beeps representing the possible options you may choose for the selected parameter. See table 2 for a list of all programmable options. Each option sequence is repeated 3 times. That is the musical tone (3 beeps) followed by a sequence of beeps (see chart below) representing the sub section you are in. EXAMPLE: Musical tone (3 fast beeps) +1 long beep is section 1, cell type. Musical tone (3 fast beeps) + 2 long beeps is sub section 2, throttle setting. Follow

the chart below for beep sequence representation. Step 3. How to select and save your program. Once you have heard the tones for the selection you want to keep, press and hold full throttle until you hear 2 beeps. If that is the only parameter you wish to change after you press full throttle and hear the 2 beeps, quickly press full breaks (push trigger away from you). You will hear 2 more beeps, and this will mean you have saved your program. The motor may go in to reverse mode at this point. Unplug power to ESC. ESC is now programmed and ready to use. If you wish to program more than 1 parameter (cell count, timing, breaks, exct) then do not press full breaks (throttle away from you) after your first program parameter has been selected (by pressing full throttle) and the ESC will go back to the beginning of the programing sequence. Remember that pressing full breaks (trigger away from you) closes the programing sequence and will restart your ESC and be ready for use. If you wish to program more parameters you have to start program mode again (see above). Step 4. Complete programming and saveing your selected options. Setup all the parameters you need to change. When complete, move the throttle stick to full breaks (away from you). The controller will save all options and re-initialize in normal running mode so you can start your motor. CAUTION! AT THIS POINT YOUR MOTOR MAY GO IN TO REVERSE> SIMPLU UNPLUG POWER TO ESC. Connect power and ESC will be programmed and ready for use.
