Name: Jo-Ries Canino Organization: League of outstanding Programmers Title / Position: President Give an example of a time when you

played a leadership role in an event, an activity, or a project. Describe how you led the efforts and describe how people responded to your leadership. This activity or project is an organization advocacy in helping the students (CICT) in terms of understanding the programming language. It was me who pursue the details of the activity, including the timeline and who will facilitate the activity. Timeline is the very important schedule on that activity. In which, it comprises the needed task for a certain date/s to accomplish the inputted and agreed task for every one of us. What leadership styles do you know and which one do you apply in your job and why? Technically, the leadership style that Ive known is the Democratic leadership. Because Ive believe giving a member or co-officers suggestions and opinions makes feel them that they are being valued by the organization. Just recently, Ive applied this to our project in our on -the-job training (as a front-enddeveloper). As an initiator of the said project, we collaborate ideas in terms of the design, functionality and standards. In that scenario, we come up with the best ideas and suggestions in implementing the functionality and building an harmonious environment within us.

Identify some situations in which a leader may fail. Was there a time you failed as a leader? How did you handle them? Time constraints/Delayed Task Time constraints are the task/activity being delayed to a certain timeline of the project. With this scenario, other group/s that is associated to the project cannot continue without finishing the first task (ex. making a prototype). Skills needed in certain project As a computer science student, there is/are a needed skill in a certain project. In which, finishing the project would cost the organization too much resources. Lacking with interaction with my co-officers had resulted in a crucial decision of the possibility of not continuing the event. With this experience, Ive learned my mistakes of not often giving updates with my co-officers in the said activity. It

resulted in giving double task in each and every one of us to compensate with the said failure. What are the three most important values you demonstrate as a leader? Give an example of these in practice. Be passionate For me being passionate demonstrates my advocacy, love and faithful to the organization. Example: As an employee being passionate demonstrates that youre doing work ethically, within standards and not saying the word nakakasawa.Saying no, when someone in the other company offers you bigger salary compare to your current. Be confident For me being confident exercise myself that I can do things with precision regardless of time constraint and etc. Example: A customer want to deliver a voting/poll system (web-based) that would be needed the other day. Being confident with your skills and knowledge would suffice in completing the task. Be god-fearing The most important values that we must have, is to be a god-fearing individual. We must know god first before we can know who we are. And without god, we cannot become leaders.
