Diaries: The use of a diary is obviously vital for our opening.

The diary underneath is what we have agreed on using as it is eerie and is fitting of the era we plan on setting our opening. We have taken inspiration from the diary used in Seven which is shown below.

Props
We will start our opening in pitch black, with the sound of footsteps. A candle will be lit and the room will light up. This will mark the start of the scene . We got this idea from Shutter Island.

Quill pen and Red Ink: We will use a quill pen for the writing of the diary as it will help show that we intend so set our piece in between the 1930-40s. We will use red ink when writing in the diary as a resemblance of blood to add more eeriness to the opening for a start.
