CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION

Nature and Background of the Study

Fashion is such an awesome thing, which is influencial. Fashion is everywhere, especially in clothing, accessories, hairstyles and other things. Hairstyles are the most attracting thing in fashion, because it is a personal glooming for a male teenager.

Male teenagers cant have a cool hairstyle without adding hair wax. Hair wax makes it all, it makes the hairstyle fierce and cool. Bench Fix Clay Doh and Gatsby Wax are the two most popular waxes here in Philippines.

Bench is a Philippine retail brand known for its clothing, bags, accessories, footwear and fragrances. It was established in 1987 opening up as a small store selling men's t-shirts, Bench has their own product for hairstyling, the Bench Fixs Professional Clay Doh. It is a hair product that holds your hair for a very long time, shines less and has a good fragrance.

Hairstyles are just right enough for holding but we can have a finishing touch, which is shine. Gatsby was originated on Japan. Gatsby sells only the

best line of hair care products. It is a hair product that keeps the hair looks fresh, but has a very nice fragrance, yet not overpowering.

Statement of the Problem

This study will focus on the SNHS male students preference between Bench clay doh and Gatsby Wax. Specifically, here are some questions that are going to be answered:

1. What are the preference of male students in Bench Clay Doh in terms of; 1.1 Function of the wax 1.2 Application of wax 1.3 Fragrance 2. What are the preference of male students in Gatsby Wax in terms of; 1.1 Function of the wax 1.2 Application of wax 1.3 Fragrance 3. What is the difference between Bench clay doh and Gatsby Wax?

Hypothesis of the Study

This include the formulated statements to observe the facts about the study. 1. There is a significant difference between Bench Fixs Clay Doh and Gatsby Wax. 2. There is no significant difference between Bench Fixs Clay Doh and Gatsby Wax.

Scopes and Limitations

This study was conducted to determine the preferred hairwax of every male student in Siniloan National High School. It will include 40 male students in SNHS that is fund of using hairwax. This will be conducted in the school year 2014-2015. The researcher utilized the descriptive research which will use the questionnaire-method in gathering the data.

Prior Research and Related Literature

Hairstyle is one of the most latest trends in fashion. Wherein most of the male teenagers want. Hairstyles will be cool if you have also a cool haircut.

I asked some students if they use wax like Bench Fix Clay Doh and Gatsby. Some male students choose Bench Fix Clay Doh and the other choose Gatsby.

Besides, having a cool hairstyle with a cool wax makes a men look awesome and attractive. Physical characteristics from asymmetry to weight to hair style/color all have an impact on people's perception of attractiveness (Clark 2002).

Definition of Terms The following terms are the variables which are operationally defined to provide a better understanding of the study:

Male Students. The students that will be asked about the study. Preference. This will determine if a student choose Bench Fix Clay Doh or Gatsby Wax. Hairstyle. The arrangement of the hair on men. Quality. Refers to the condition of the said hair product. Function of the wax. The molding and shining effect of the wax when applied on hair.

CHAPTER II

Methodology

This chapter will be discussing the Research Design, Research Instrument, Subject of the Study and Statistic Tools

Research Design

This study will use the descriptive design in gathering the number of male students prefer to use Bench Fix Clay Doh or Gatsby Wax. The design will use a researcher-made questionnaire and will determine if most of the respondents choice is Bench Fix Clay Doh or Gatsby Wax.

Research Instrument

This study utilized a researcher-made questionnaire which will gather the data of every male student in SNHS. The questionnaire is divided into two parts. The respondents choice of wax and why did they choose that hairwax.

Subject of the Study

The study has a maximum respondents of 40 only using Quota-Sampling technique. The respondents are from different grade/year and section in Siniloan National High School.

Statistical Tools

The statistical tool that will be use is Percentage.
