INTRODUCTION A.

Overview of Student Learning Program To promote an integral and enriching aspect of a student's education and to foster university engagement with the larger community that furthers the academic and public purposes of the university.

The aforementioned statement above is the main objective of Student Learning Program. The said program, as defined by the National Youth Leadership Council as "a philosophy, pedagogy, and model for community development that is used as an instructional strategy to meet learning goals and/or content standards. It offers students immediate opportunities to apply classroom learning to support or enhance the work of local agencies that often exist to effect positive change in the community. Same with the definition of Dr. William Richardson when he defined Student Learning as a teaching and learning method in which students provide meaningful service in the community to help them better understand what they are learning in their college courses. In addition to that, he also stated that student learning is embedded in academic courses and focuses on critical thinking and problem solving, personal development and community responsibility.

On the other point of view, the Interdisciplinary Studies program defined the said program as a learning assessment program which according to them, there are three goals that the students have to achieve such as [1] students should have to develop critical thinking skills that would allow them to see the intellectual connections between disciplinary fields in their area of concentration, [2] students should have to develop an

awareness of diverse peoples, cultures, and ideas, and appreciate the importance of engaging in lifelong interdisciplinary learning to become informed and responsible global citizens, [3] students should have to learn to develop linkages between their interdisciplinary intellectual inquiries and their own ethical positions in terms of contemporary challenges facing individuals, communities, and societies. For us, as we already had conducted the mentioned program, based on our program we can define it as a leadership program which to foster and promote inclusive environments and to advance social justice and civic engagement. B. Objectives The said program, its main objective is to engage the university and the broader community in reciprocal partnerships. Specifically, its objectives are the following: a. To create educational programs for students b. To promote leadership through service; and c. To foster and promote inclusive environments and to advance social justice and civic engagement.
