BIG REFLECTION 5th PHASE On 19th February 2014, my class paid a visit to SK Dato Hashim 1 for a benchmarking test. The school was chosen because it is one of the best schools in Pengkalan Chepa area. It is also a CLUSTER school which also happens to be a highperformance type of school. It is hour honor to visit school and meet all the staffs there. The main purpose of this visit is to see and learn how they manage their school. The vital key point of having an efficient management is the filing system. Without a proper filing system, the school might not be able to pull all their work smoothly. The headmistress also plays the crucial details in managing the school. One has to be very independent and dedicated to run such school. I cant help but to notice that she also does the work by herself. The managerial section of the school is the backbone of the school. Without it, the school may not run perfectly. There are a lot of sections that keep the documents and the files. All the sections are specific to one type of document. This can help in finding the particular document needed quickly. The school has a preschool and a class for disabled children. This shows that even with disabilities, children can have a normal school environment that they deserve for this is essential for children to learn and it is also a part of a healthy growing-up process. The preschool also caters to around twenty children. The compound itself is perfect for little kids. Parents not need to worry about sending their kids to this preschool as it is well guarded. The school strives for its excellent achievements and performance. Some of its students are states and regional representatives. This goes to show that they also produce quality and active students. The school effort to getting all these children to where they are now is truly amazing. Not to mention, the UPSR result for this school is also top-ranked in the state. All the school activities are planned early in the year. Extracurricular activities are done early when the school starts. This is to let the students have sufficient time to study for exams. The UPSR students are also sent to attend camps to help them prepare for their exam. To me, this program has given me an insight on how managing a school is executed. It is always important to note that communication is the vital piece of it. The school and the teachers work together really hard to maintain the school performance. It is safe to say that even though it is a tough process, the school manages to pull it off as it has the best teacher and a solid foundation of teamwork.
