Aero brake : It may be defined as the aerodynamic brake system which may be used extremely in low-density atmospheres i.e.

., mach no 5 to 25 . It may also the deceleration , by holding nose high after landing . Aero drome : A definite and limited area of ground or water which is intended to be used for aviation. Aerodynamic balance : It is the metod of reducing control surface hinge moment by providing aerodynamic surface ahead of hinge axis . Aerodynamic centre : The point about which there is no change of moment with change in angle of incidence / attack . It may also be defined as the point about which resultant force appears to rotate with change of angle if incidence / attack.it is also called as axis of constant moments . Chord : it is defined as the straight line which is parallel to longitudinal axis that joining the centres of curvature of leading and trailing edges of an aero foil section .

Aerodynamic force : It is defined as the force on body which is moving through gaseous medium and assumed to be proportional to density of medium , square of speed or velocity ,characteristics dimension of dimension of body . This relationship is also called as rayleigh formula . Aero foil : It is defined as the solid body is designed to move through gaseous medium and obtain useful force reaction other than drag . It is simply defined as cross section of wing shape of an aircraft . Examples for aerofoil in cross section of wing , control surface , fin ,turbine blade ,etc.., Aeronautics : It is the study of science which deals about the design and construction with the operation of aircraft . Aeroplane : It is defined as any flying machine with planes which is fixedin flight .

Aerodyne : It is defined the heavier than air craft , which is sustained in atmosphere by self generated aerodynamic force . Two major catergories are aeroplanes and rotorplanes . Aerospace : It is essentially , limitless , contium ,extending , from the earths surface and outwards through atmosphere. Aerospace craft : It is defines as the vehicle , which is designed to operate anywhere in aerospace and especially both within and above atmosphere. Aero structure : The supporting and controlling surfaces of an aeroplanes is known as aero structure .they are usings , engines and tail of a flying boat .this also known as airframe . Aero stat : It is defined as lighter than air cradt which is buoyant in atmosphere at a height at which it displaces its own mass of air . Major sub-groups are ballons and airships. After burner ; Injectionand combustion of additional fuel in specially desined pipe to provide aaugmented thrust . It is the thrust producding agent in the engine . Ailavator : The control surface which is acting as aileron and as elevator . Is is also known as elevon. It is usedin delta wing . Aileron : It is the control surface which is hinged to outer using and formnkg part of trailing edge , to procrdure rolling moment in an aircraft . Aircraft : It is a device which is designed to sustain itself in the atmosphere which is above earths surface . The two types of aircraft are Air frame : A specially designed tensile cable , usually either solid wire or any of eight built-up construction . It is used for operating flight control and other mechanical subsystems . Aerodynes and Aerostats

Air frame : It is defined as A flying machine without the engine .it may also defined as Assembled structure . In this the system components forming integral part of structure to influencing strength and shape of an aircraft . Air ship ; It is defined as a power driven lighter-than-air aircraft . Air speed : It is defined as the relative velocity between the moving object and the surrounding air . the gauge used to indicate the air speed is known as air speed indicator . Alitimeter : It is an instrument for measuring and indicating height of an object . Altitude : It I defined as the vertical distance of an object mean sea level (MSL). Aspect ratio : It is defined as the ratio between the using span to the wing area . AR = b2 / 2 Where A.R= Aspect Ratio B = wing / S = wing Atmosphere : Atmosphere is nothing the gaseous envelope which is surrounding earth and is sub divided into several layer . Angle of attack : It is defined as the angle between wing chord of an aircraft to local undisturbed airflow direction ina an aircraft . Autopilot : It is an airborne electronic system in which automatic stabilization of an aircraft about its three axes is crried and restores its original flight path too. Bernoullis theorem : It is the statement of conservation of energy in fluid flow . this is given by Biplane : Aeroplane or glider having two sets of wings substantially superimposed .

Cabin : It is defined as enclosure for aircraft occupants . it is also known as cockpit or flight deck. Camber : It is defined as the maximnum distance between the mean camber line of an aerofail section and the chord line . it is perpendicular ooto the chord line and it is the centerline of the areofail. Critical mach number : The free steam mach number at which sonicflow is first obtained some where on the airfoil surface is called the critical mach number of the airfoil . Drag : It is define as retarding force acting upon body in relative motion through fluid . it is parallel to the relative wing and also in same direction . Drag co-efficient : It is a non dimesional co-efficient which is equal to total drag to 1/2 pv2s. Dynamic lift : Aerodynamic lift due to the movement of the air relative to a lighter than air aircraft.
