Replacing the X Timing Belt 1V6P Machine.

The X Timing belt moves the table left to right, and the Y: timing belt moves the table from front to back. After 11 years or so the timing belts may become worn out and need to be replaced. The steps to remove the X belt are. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) Remove the table Remove Table mounting assembly Remove the Rear Panel Remove the Y- Motor Remove the Y Axis Drive system Loosen the Shuttle locking Allen screws (3mm) Release the belt tension. Remove the Belt joint plate (3mm Allen Screws) Remove the old belt

Tools Needed: 2.5mm Allen Wrench 3.0mm Allen Wrench 5mm Allen Wrench Phillips Screw Driver

Removing the Table Remove the Silicone cover pad to the table, and Remove the four 3mm Allen Screws and the 12 Phillip screws that mount the table to the XY Assembly.

1) Remove Table mounting assembly

Remove the Rear Panel to gain access to the Y Motor:

Replacing the X Timing Belt 1V6P Machine.

Remove the Y Motor By loosening the 2.5mm Allen screws from the spring Collar then remove the four 3.0 mm Allen screws that secure the motor and set the motor onto the base below.

Remove the Y Axis Drive system from off of the X Axis system (5.0mm Allen Screws). Once you remove these 4 Allen screws, lift up carefully and move the Y Axis to the side to get access to the Belt joint plate on the X Axis system.

Loosen the Y Shuttles Locking screws. The shuttle is the part that adjusts to set tension on the Y belt. (3.0mm Allen Screws)

Remove the Belt Joint Plate and remove the old belt (2.5mm Allen Screws)

Feed the new belt on and Trim the belt if necessary so that both ends meet together on the grooves of the belt joint assembly, then remount the plate and secure the 2.5 mm Allen screws. Remount the Y Axis system and secure its 5.0mm Allen Screws. Remount the Y Axis Motor ensuring that the Shaft of the motor lines up with the Shaft of the pulley then slide the spring coupler over the both shafts and snug the Allen Screws (But do not over-tighten the Allen screws on the Spring Coupler) Remount the Table Mount assembly and the table, then put the rear cover back on.
