PRESENTATION OF THE ARANGKADA LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD By Mr. Shameem P.

(Note: All JFC presidents already are on the stage) Friends of Arangkada, distinguished guests, my name is Shameem Qurashi, president of the Philippine Association of Multinational Companies Regional Headquarters, Inc. At our 2013 forum, the JFC awarded the first Arangkada Lifetime Achievement Award to former president Fidel Ramos. Today, we are giving the award for the second time. The criteria that the JFC set in considering whom to recognize were (1) an accomplished person from the public or private sector, (2) nominated and selected within the JFC, and (3) must have contributed very significantly to the economic growth of the Philippines through improving the investment climate. The language on the award states that it is given: In recognition of outstanding contributions and superb leadership over several decades to achieving highly significant and lasting institutional and policy reforms of long-term benefit to the people and economy of the Republic of the Philippines. Today, we are extremely pleased to present this award to one of the most distinguished Filipinos, a person whose lifetime has been dedicated to better jobs for Filipinos and whose tireless efforts have successfully created a million jobs by providing a competitive and supportive environment for foreign investment and exports.

DE LIMA MAY I INVITE YOU TO RETURN TO THE STAGE Madam Director General, Since 1995, you have served under four successive presidents as Director General and Chairman of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority; You understand the global supply chain better than anyone else in the country; You created a world class economic zone authority with some 300 zones hosting over 3,000 locator companies that have invested $54 billion employing a Filipino workforce of 1 million and exporting almost $500 million each year; You are the only woman to receive the Man of the Year Award of the Management Association of the Philippines; You are the youngest of 12 children of a public school teacher who through education and hard effort has become an example to all Filipinos; In 1970 you were one of the youngest delegates and 1 of only 13 women elected to the 1971 Constitutional Convention;
