INSTRUCTIONS: TEST 1 (N1=30%) ORAL PRESENTATION

INSTRUCTIONS: Students must form GROUPS OF 2 members. Every group must work out a presentation in POWER POINT based on personal research about A JOB POSITION IN A COMPANY. The presentation has to be ORAL, and must be done using MODAL VERBS, PRESENT SIMPLE TENSE, TO BE - PAST, PAST SIMPLE TENSE and FUTURE TENSES. Every presentation must last between 5 and 7 minutes (4 5 slides) Presentations shorter than that will have marks discounted. All group members have to speak the same amount of time. Reading WILL NOT be allowed. Every group member has to say his/her part ORALLY. Every presentation must INCLUDE: a) A brief companys profile or description (Foundation year, Headquarters, amount of workers/employees, type of industry-company, Present CEO or owner, past performance of the company and its future goals). b) A description of responsibilities of a selected job position in that company (Type of Job: full/part time, Specific tasks/responsibilities, Skills that are necessary, Vacation time, Salary/benefits, Human relations, etc.) At the end of the students presentation, the teacher will ask questions about what they spoke. Looking for a job

When a company needs to recruit or employ new people, it may decide to advertise the job or position in the appointments section of a newspaper. People who are interested can then apply for the job by sending in a letter of application or covering letter (US cover letter) and a curriculum vitae or CV (US rsum) containing details of their education and experience. A company may also ask candidates to complete a standard application form.
