USES Major recommended uses: Surface tissues, Pipe wrap felts, Mastic roofing felt, Irrigation felts, Battery separator felts. Major recommended method of application ; Follow good practice as per International Standards. PHYSICAL PROPERTIES Appearance thin film Filament size between 11 and 18 microns Vapour Pressure n/a Flashpoint n/a Flammability Limits Heat Degradation Solubility in Water HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION Glass Reinforcing Fibre Acute Swallowed Not expected route of entry Eye Irritant to the eyes Skin Irritant to the skin Inhalation Irritant to upper respiratory tract Chronic Glass reinforcing fibre is not classified as a human carcinogen - to date no risk of lung cancer has been found in the reinforcing glass filament industry . Binder At normal room temperatures the binders do not present a significant health risk. However on heating smoke may be generated and degradation products formed which may have pungent or acrid odours. The degradation products generated by extreme heating or fire may include the decomposition products of bisphenolic polyester resin that can be harmful by inhalation, and respiratory protection should be used in emergency situations such as fire. Acute Swallowed Not expected route of entry - may cause gastric irritation Eye Irritant to the eyes Skin Irritant to the skin Inhalation Irritant to upper respiratory tract, headaches and dizziness Chronic Long term exposure to the uncured resin at high concentrations may cause CNS depression. This is not expected under normal conditions of use. Medical Conditions Aggravated By Exposure Persons with pre-existing respiratory disease may be at increased risk from exposure to airborne dusts and fibres. Sheet thickness nominal 0.2 - 1.5 Boiling Point/Melting Point n/a Specific Gravity n/a Non-combustible Some binder volatiles may be released at temperatures above 300C (as in fire situation) Non soluble

FIRST AID Ingestion If ingestion occurs give large quantities of water. Do not induce vomiting. Contact a doctor or poisons information centre on 13 11 26 (Australia wide). Seek medical advice. Eyes Wash thoroughly with running water for 20-minutes. Seek medical advice if irritation develops. Skin If irritation, redness or swelling occurs wash skin with warm soapy water. Remove contaminated clothing. Seek medical attention if irritation persists. Maintain good personal hygiene standards. Launder clothing before reuse. Inhalation Remove to fresh air (move to open, clean environment. If victim is not breathing apply artificial respiration and seek urgent medical attention. First Aid Facilities Provision of adequate first aid and washing facilities, on site, to wash and treat both skin and eye irritation. PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE Synthetic mineral fibres, including fibreglass, are classified as respirable and non-respirable fibres, determined by the fibre diameter. Respirable fibres have a diameter less than 3 micrometres and a length greater than 5 micrometres and with a length to width ratio greater than 3:1. These fibres can reach the deepest part of the lung. The manufactured fibre diameter of Regina Glass Fibre fibres is between 11 and 18 micrometres, and there should be no respirable fibres released from the product during recommended methods of use. The cutting or abrasion of the sheet may cause the release of glass dust into the atmosphere and precautions should be taken to minimise inspiration of the dust. Exposure Standards (finished product & glass fibre) Non-respirable synthetic mineral fibres Time Weighted Average 2 mg/m3 as inspirable dust. (Worksafe Australia Exposure standards for atmospheric contaminants in the occupational environment,2nd edition 1991, Exposure standard time weighted average (TWA) is the average concentration of a particular substance when calculated over a normal 8-hour working day, for a 5-day week. The exposure standard refers to airborne concentrations of substances to which it is believed that nearly all workers may be repeatedly exposed day after day without adverse effect. Under normal conditions of use of glass fibre products respiratory protection should not be required, however, if working in a restricted environment, or cutting product a P1 dust filter mask is recommended Avoid generation of dust Do not breathe dust Wash hands well before eating, drinking or smoking Do not use compressed air for cleaning

CONTROL MEASURES Engineering Controls A system of local and/or general exhaust is recommended (if working with the material in a restricted space) to keep employee exposures below the Worksafe Australia Exposure Standards for fibrous dust or the uncured resin. Personal Protection Respirator Type

Glove Type Eye Protection

Clothing Feet Hygiene

Not required under normal conditions of use. If the exposure limit of the glass fibre or uncured resin is exceeded during manufacture, respiratory protection should be worn. Impervious gloves should be worn. A full face mask or goggles (safety glasses) to prevent dust entering the eyes is recommended. Goggles should be kept clean and the face washed regularly to prevent skin irritation. Full length clothing is recommended. Protective footwear should be worn. Wash hands thoroughly before eating, drinking or smoking. Remove contaminated clothing before entering eating areas.

FLAMMABILITY The product is non-combustible, but in a fire situation noxious fumes may be liberated at temperatures above 300C, fire fighters should wear self contained breathing apparatus if inhalation risk exists. STORAGE AND TRANSPORT Store in a dry place with adequate ventilation. No Dangerous Goods Class allocated. No HAZCHEM Code allocated Labelling and packaging should be in accordance with the relevant applicable regulations or in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations. SPILLS AND DISPOSAL All spills should be vacuumed up if possible and spilled material placed in suitably sealed and appropriately labelled containers. Clean-up personnel should wear impervious protective clothing and P1 respirators. Not listed as an environmental pollutant -The environmental consequences of this material are unknown, therefore it is recommended to contain spills and dispose of waste material according to EPA advice. FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD Hazards of Use/ Storage No hazards are anticipated during normal use.
