About the Course

Driven by strong demand for coal for different applications, coal terminals are experiencing tremendous growth in daily port operations and logistic services coupled with higher client expectations. The pressure is greater than ever on coal ports and terminals to improve efficiency, upgrade operating standards and technologies, and develop customized coal logistics and service delivery. This 2 day coal-oriented workshop will provide a comprehensive review of coal terminal design, operations and management. The workshop is designed for a wide audience range including coal and dry bulk terminal operators, shippers and traders, ship owners, dry bulk logistics and freight forwarders as well as port developers. The economics of coal terminals will be examined in relation to the geography of coal trading. Participants will be further exposed to both commercial and technical evaluations for capacity expansion and future planning of coal terminals while developing KPIs to optimize overall port performance and productivity. In addition, the workshop will address value added services offered by coal terminals in terms of storage solutions and inventory management to optimize the overall coal supply chain.
