Entry-level Certified Paralegal with a background in Civil Litigation, Estates, and Corporate Law Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access 2010; Westlaw

Dear Viewer: I am a recent Honors Graduate of the ABA Approved Paralegal Program at Westchester Community College, a New York State Notary Public, and have earned a Bachelors degree. Based upon my excellent academic performance, internship completion, and longstanding status as an entrepreneur, I feel I am a candidate you will wish to further review and consider. As a former business owner with a solid background in client relations and daily business operations, I have recognized that many of the skills required in a business environment are mutually suitable to those of a paralegal in a legal setting. This has resulted in an increased competency when implementing client interviewing techniques; maintaining contact and addressing concerns of clientele; performing data entry and retrieval from case management systems; as well as executing accounting procedures regarding office disbursements, record keeping of attorney hourly billings, and itemization of settlements, awards, or assets. With reference to my knowledge of corporate structure status and a familiarity with government forms concerning tax, employment, or other agency filings, I am easily able to make accurate determinations when interpreting case material or reviewing documents relating to similar subject matter. As for my legal experience, I was given the rare opportunity of completing two internships under very different legal concepts and settings. The first of these internships involved assistance in civil litigation procedure concerning Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice claims in a law office environment. The latter internship concerned numerous Estate, Trust, and Guardianship requests presented before The Westchester County Surrogates Court; whereby I obtained a concentrated emphasis in Wrongful Death Compromises and Supplemental Need Trust proceedings. As a result, I feel I am a rather unique individual, for I have a broad knowledge of legal theories and their associated applications thus I have the ability to adapt this knowledge in various contexts. I have published my rsum for your review. I am confident that as a member of your team, I can make a significant contribution resulting in the smooth operation of your office with maximum efficiency. I would welcome any discussion or inquiries you may have regarding my qualifications and can be reached by email at tamaraboyd14@aol.com or by telephone at (914) 400-5313. Thank you for your time and attention. Sincerely, Tamara Boyd Certified Paralegal Enclosure: Rsum
