Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received British Prince Andrew

Britain to raise investment in Vietnam to us$3 billion


Hanoi _Britain will increase its investment in Vietnam from over $2 billion at the
moment to 3$ billion in the near future ,it was agreed during a meeting between
Prince Andrew and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on October 7 ,in Hanoi
At the meeting ,British Prince Andrew said Britain was committed to continuing
the official development assistance (ODA) it provides to Vietnam for efforts to
combat climate change and sea level rise.
Britain has also proposed that European Commission not extend the imposition of
anti-dumping tariff on Vietnam’s leather shoe exports to EU market, Prince
Andrew said.
As part of his two-day trip to Vietnam, Prince Andrew joined the third meeting of
the UK-Vietnam Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO). Established in
September, 2007, JETCO works to promote and develop commerce, to create the
commercial barriers and to create the better business environment ties between the
two countries
Meeting the journalists after the meeting, Andrew Cahn, CEO of UK Trade and
Investment (UKTI) said that Vietnam has made itself become the destination for
the businesses on their ways to other economies in Meridian. ’’Vietnam’s
appropriate authorities are enthusiasm for cooperation of foreign businesses. I
really want to make very effort to encourage the UK businesses to take full
advantage of available opportunities and to support their success in Vietnam”, he
said.

Compliment praise amending young people


Ninhbinh. October 5. The central committee of the Union cooperate with Prison
Manager department (Ministry of Police) to held a compliment praise amending
youths conference 2009 in the Red River Delta. Joining the conference, 43 young
people used to break the law, commit the social evils and now they are all dream
to live a good life again.
At the conference, many stories of their own in amending mistakes and returning
to live better, continuing studying, working, fostering family happiness,
participating in making their contribution to society. The conference also assess
Youth Union’s activities of crime prevention, helping young people to amend,
complimenting and widening assistant model for the young to fall in line with
society.
As part of the conference, delegates took part in
14 test places have been admitted for testing swine flu.
Hanoi. Yesterday ( Oct 5) Ministry of public health decided to admit 14
bacteriological laboratories had fully capacity of testing swine flu. They are : the
laboratory of State epidemiological hygiene institute, State tropical deceases and
infection institute, central pediatric hospital, preventive medicine centre,
