Selection
The Project selected is Survey on Eco-Friendly Products used by people in our Locality. Eco-Friendly Products are the products which we refer when we are ready to lower our impact on the environment. Buying Eco-Friendly Products is our trump card for controlling Global Warming and for giving the planet a chance to heal. It seems that we have forgotten somewhere along the way that we, the consumers, actually have the power over what is made and purchased. Thus to create an awareness among the people about Eco-Friendly Products the above topic has been selected.

Objectives
1. To create awareness among people about Eco-Friendly Products. 2. To make people realize the needs of Eco-Friendly Product in this modern day world where pollution, uncontrolled use of natural resources and other environmental threats are scaling new heights of depression every day. 3. To refer people those products that do not affect or cause any harm to the environment, be it in their production, use and disposal stages.

4. To make people use Eco-Friendly Products so that they can reduce their carbon footprint since these products do not harm the environment or form any green house gases to release in the production or utilization stage. Some of them help save energy and do not encourage adding substantial toxicity to environment. The Eco-Friendly Products can be recycled and reused. So many EcoFriendly Products are made out of recycled materials. Hence their use must be increased.

Relevance
1. Social Aspect:
What are we going to do when fertile rich lands that yielded food crops to us turning completely barren one fine day and every one of us in the world are left without food for consumption? We should be bound to tell about the significance of the Eco-Friendly products to the younger generation so that they will boost growth Ecofriendly products in their time. Whether it is small or big but even a small change will impact and is surely a way out from this era of global warming, green house effects and natural calamities that are resulting due to the green house gases. A lot of learned people are against the use of harmful chemicals and are encouraging the use and production of eco-friendly products. Its high time that we support and stand for such green movements and ideas that bring out the conscious of the public about using ecoFriendly Products.

2. Environmental Aspect:
In spite of a lot of awareness programs being conducted about using biological methods and degradable methods of fertilization and pest control, a lot of lethargic people are still going for excessive usage of chemicals thinking that they are making their land yield more. But the sad truth is that it is a much that will lead to permanent loss and unhealthy damage to the human race and other living organisms. Solar products like solar water heater, solar cooker, solar calculators, solar car batteries, solar cookers, etc can be used in our daily lives at home and offices instead of the normal ones. Eco Friendly paints can be used instead of normal ones as they are non-toxic and have less of harmful chemicals in them. Even the feminine products like earrings, handbags, purses, chains, creams, body wash and scrubs are available as handmade and handcrafted items which can be used instead of the artificial plastic ones. There are also organic clothes available in the market made using natural cotton, environment friendly dyes.

3. Economical Aspects:
Eco-Friendly products are nothing but products that are being manufactured with the thought that the procedure of producing as well as distributing those products not having any kind of negative impacts or harm to the environment or ecology. One of the ways to promote Eco-Friendly products is going for products like Eco-Friendly printer. Business card printing, color printing, printing

postcards and all other services must follow the FSC Rules to be good Eco-Friendly Products.

4. Scientific aspects:
The most important reason one should start using Eco-Friendly products is because of devastating effect of harmful gases, nonbiodegradable plastics, dangerous gases which not only pollutes environment but also causes respiratory problems in human beings. Not only that there is also a change in the global warming of the earth, which increases the earths temperature, which in turn causes the green house effect.

Methodology

A survey was conducted in order to create awareness and gain information about Eco-Friendly Product used by people in our locality. The Following Questions were asked to People:

1. Do you consider your effect on the environment as a consumer


before purchasing general day to day products?

2. Do you regularly recycle products? 3. Have you ever sent old or broken house hold electronic products
to be recycled?

4. Are you aware of any products which are designed with


environmental issues in mind?

5. Have you ever bought or considered buying products which are


designed with environmental issues in mind?

6. Would you be willing to pay more for an Eco-Friendly garment


with the same properties?

7. Do you give your products to needy when not needed by you? 8. If a take back system (where the garment is returned to retailer
after use) was offered to you for your outdoor garments, would you use it?

if you knew it would have a lesser environmental impact, but you could wear it only few times?

Conclusion:
So we see from the results of the survey that still after so many years of starting this green mission we have not achieved an optimal result that is expected. So we all should at our individual level start spreading awareness about Eco-Friendly Products in our locality. As the phrase Start Investing Today for Better Tomorrow we too should start investing our ideas for a greener tomorrow..
