Kennedy Gallery Friends has developed the essential outlines of a plan for self-governance of the W.K.P. Kennedy Public Art Gallery, and its time to share it with you. he KG! steering committee will be presenting its proposal for the restructuring of the gallery at a closed meeting of Kennedy Gallery !riends in the "lub #oom at $t. The only requirement for membership in Kennedy Gallery Friends is a commitment to the principles of gallery self-governance and the restoration of the director/curator position. (f you are in accord with these principles, consider yourself already a Kennedy Gallery !riend. We urge you to /oin us at this crucial stage.

(f our plan for the gallery is ultimately to be reali0ed, concerted member action will be re1uired at the Annual General 'eeting of the "apitol "entre at 2pm on Wednesday, 'arch *3 th, for which we also have a plan. (ts ob/ective is to ensure that the restructuring proposal is formally presented to the 4oard with the weight of the "apitol "entre membership behind it. egardless of the outcome at the AG', the membership has been revitali0ed, and our wor5 will continue. (t will ta5e time and considerable effort to eventually implement the plan, but the alternative 6 doing nothing 6 is unacceptable to anyone with close personal or professional ties to the Kennedy Gallery. !othing is what will happen without your support. !or the plan to succeed, KG! supporters need to be in the ma/ority at the AG' whether in person or represented by pro7y. $uccess is well within our grasp8 Kennedy Gallery !riends has nearly doubled the membership in the "apitol "entre from where it stood last August, a long way from having started with no representation at all9

Although we have eased the concerns of some 6 founded mostly on misinformation 6 about the intentions of KG!, it would be a mista5e to mis/udge the strength of the opposition to a self-governing Kennedy Gallery. here are those who will not be persuaded despite the facts or the legitimacy of our cause.
