WORK ORDER ASSIGNMENT OVERVIEW

This document provides the back-end system requirements and configuration for Work Order Assignment Type feature for Work Manager 5.3 for SAP ERP. Summary This document outlines the work assignment process for work manager application. Work orders originate from the SAP application where they are planned and assigned to the technician by different assignment types. Business Needs The planning department will verify and release the work orders that are ready to dispatch and assigned to the technician directly using person responsible field or using technicians work center, planner group or related business partner. Work manager application need to support all these different assignment types to download work orders and notifications associated with the technician. Assumptions List of technicians and associated personnel numbers will be maintained in SAP. The work center/planner group/partner function relationship associated with the technician (mobile user) will be maintained through MAM configuration in SAP. SAP PM module is implemented SAP HR module is implemented Push is only supported for assignment type 1 and assignment type 2

Work Order Assignment Types The following are the different types of work assignment that will support through work manager application:

Note: Some of the buttons in Work Manager Application at work order header level and operation level like TRANSFER, HOLD, and TECO etc. will be disabled based on assignment type chosen. In other words if assignment type is at operation level then buttons at work order header level are disabled and vice versa.

SECTION 1: HEADER LEVEL PERSON RESPONSIBLE (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 1): The planned work order will be assigned to the technicians HR personnel number through work order header Person Responsible field as shown in Fig. 2.1.

SECTION 1.2: OPERATION LEVEL PERSONNEL NUMBER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 2):

The planned work order will be assigned to the technicians HR personnel number through work order individual operation Personnel number field as shown in Fig. 2.2.

SECTION 1.3: SUB-OPERATION LEVEL PERSONNEL NUMBER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 3):

The planned work order will be assigned to the technicians HR personnel number through work order individual Sub-operation Personnel number field as shown in Fig. 2.3.

SECTION 1.4: CAPACITY REQUIREMENT LEVEL PERSONNEL NUMBER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 4):

The planned work order will be assigned to the technicians HR personnel number through work order operation Capacity Requirement Personnel number field as shown in Fig. 2.4.

SECTION 1.5: HEADER LEVEL PLANNER GROUP (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 5): The planned work order will be assigned to the planner group associated with the technician through work order header Planner Group field as shown in Fig. 2.5.1.

Fig. 2.5 Header level Planner Group Assignment SECTION 1.6: OPERATION/TASK LEVEL WORK CENTER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 6): The planned work order will be assigned to the work center associated with the technician through work order individual operation level work center field as shown in Fig. 2.6.1.

SECTION 1.7: HEADER LEVEL BUSINESS PARTNER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 7): The planned work order will be assigned to the Business Partner associated with the technician through work order header partner function maintenance as shown in Fig. 2.7.1.

Fig. 2.7 Header level Business Partner Assignment The Business Partner could be anyone related to work order partner function and associated with the technician such as sold-to-party, ship-to-party, vendor etc. The standard out-of-box work manager product will use partner function VU-User Responsible as default partner function and technician SAP User ID as partner number if there is no MAM configuration set up for the user. SECTION 1.8: HEADER LEVEL WORK CENTER (ASSIGNMENT TYPE 8): The planned work order will be assigned to the Work Center associated with the technician through work order header work center field as shown in Fig. 2.8.

SECTION 4: MAM CONFIGURATION

By using Mobile Asset Management (MAM) configuration, you can define individual settings for each user. Mobile device will be updated with the user data settings on login step. Go to the following IMG path to update the user data: IMG Plant Maintenance and Customer Service Maintenance and Service processing Mobile Asset Management Configure User-Dependent Data

Fig. 3.1 MAM Configuration for User level settings If MAM configuration is not maintained for the mobile user then the application will go and check for user parameter maintenance to update the user data settings to the mobile device.

NOTE: If none of the above listed assignment type suit your business requirement, create new your assignment type or use predefined enhancements provided by base product for each assignment type to define additional filter criteria.
