The Technological Advances in Reproductive Biology summer science program is a two week summer course for rising juniors and seniors where students learn advanced topics in the field of reproductive biology. For students in grades 10-12. Duke WRITE (Writing Researching Integrating Technological Engagement) is designed to equip college-bound students with the necessary skills to meet the academic challenges of writing and reseaching on the college level. It will also introduce techniques to strengthen presentation skills.

Applications are being accepted for the North Carolina Central University Summer Youth Business and Entrepreneurship Academy presented by the Make It Happen Foundation, hosted by the NCCU School of Business. The NCCU School of Business Summer Youth Business and Entrepreneurship Academy is a nonresidential 10-day program on the NCCU campus in July. The Academy is open to 20,high achieving rising 10th and 11th grade students, with a B average or higher, from Durham, N.C., and surrounding counties. Selected students will receive business training and exposure to higher education on the campus of NCCU, along with a full scholarship to cover the cost of attendance plus materials. The two-week Academy includes: Lectures taught by host NCCU professors and local business leaders. Topics include introductory business courses in marketing, finance (financial literacy), entrepreneurship, leadership and ethics. Corporate visits to help students gain exposure to the application of business principles in the real world as they interact with local corporate executives during on-site visits. Business plan development and team competition with participants to derive a business plan for a new idea. A panel of judges from the business community will evaluate the plan and a prize will be awarded to the winning team. The NCCU School of Business Summer Youth Business and Entrepreneurship Academy provides an opportunity for participants to begin building a network and will serve as a valuable addition to students resumes, enhancing the likelihood for college admission to their school of choice. http://www.nccu.edu/academics/sc/business/summer-academy/ Non-residential 10-day program to learn about business management. The UNC Kenan-Flager Business School will be hosting the Financial Futures Youth Summer Institute. The purpose of this program is to identify, nurture, and motivate minority or female high school students (current sophmores through seniors) who may have career interests in the field of business, but lack exposure to the industry.
