Weekly I&C Report Summary

Monday 3/3/14
Work Permit GT7 & GT8

[3/3/14 9/3/14]

Field Work 1. Cleaning of gas Forwarding station devices (DONE) 2. Sealing/covering of FTG cables to prevent water ingress (DONE) 3. FPG 2A, 2B, 2C on gas manifold faulty, HMI displaying false pressure reading. The pressure joints were loosened. Termination cables Red and Black were joined and Blue & White were connected to the digital meter probes Milliamp test was carried out. Reading was 4.5mA, the transducer span adjustment was adjusted till 4mA was attained on the digital meter indicating zero pressure (DONE) 4. Gas manifold no.2 pressure gauge is not working. (Ongoing) (Awaiting Pressure Gauges) 5. Generator cooling water pressure gauge is faulty (0 1Mpa) (Ongoing) (Awaiting Pressure Gauges) 6. 33CB 2 re-wiring was poorly done The cables were firmly taped. (DONE) 7. Duplex coalescing filter test Filter side (71GS1-1, 71GS1-2A, 71GS1-2B), 71GS2-1, (71GS2-1, 71GS2-2A, 71GS2-2B) 8. Resistance test across and resistance to ground of the following from MARK VI control panel: a. Solenoid valves b. Servo valves (DONE) 1A4 1A4 (TB no) Resistance 90SR(R) 25,26 1.076Kwatts c. Magnetic speed sensor (DONE) - Three magnetic sensors are used to measure the speed of the turbine. These magnetic pickup sensors (77NH1, 2, 3) are high output devices consisting of a permanent magnet surrounded by a hermetically sealed case. 1A1 1A1 (TB no) Resistance 77NH-1 41,42 244 77NH-2 33,34 247.8 77NH-3 25,26 237.7 d. Vibration Sensor (DONE) 1F1 1F1 (TB no) Resistance 39V-1A 2,3 112.4 39V-1B 5,6 106.2 39V-3A 11,12 106.7 39V-3B 14,15 108.5 1F2 1F2 (TB no) Resistance 39V-4A 5,6 117.1 39V-4B 8,9 108.3 39V-5A 11,12 118.3 9. Instrument Calibration: a. Temperature Switches (DONE)(4/3/14) b. Pressure Switches c. Pressure Transmitters

GT7

Generator cooling water pressure gauge replacement (0 1Mpa) Junction box- Termination cables (15A & 15B) continuity test for Generator Temp - Stator Coupling End (Ohmic Value). URGENT UPS for the Network Switches for all units in the local is urgently needed in order not to lose data on the HMI after loss of power.

Tuesday 4/3/14
Work Permit GT8 Field Work Calibration of temperature switches; 26QA-1, 26QT-1A, 26QT-1B Repair carried out as follows Switching temperature range was checked using Amatek Calibration Instrument. NOTES & UNDERSTANDING Calibration Procedure for Temperature switch: The temperature calibrator was switched ON and allowed to initiate. The temperature switch sensor was dipped into the calibrator thermo-well and the cable terminals were connected to a digital meter to monitor the Ohmic value. (i.e. the Ohmic value gives clue of when switching takes place) Initial temperature set point was entered using F1 (i.e. Using key pad on the calibrator: Press F1, key-in the set point and press enter). The temperature switch remains in a closed state through different set points until it gets to a certain temperature when it opens. (Note: the calibrator has to achieve a stable state before changing a set point). Calibration Readings: 1) 26QA-1 Temperature Resistance State 70.00 2.8 Closed 72.00 2.8 Closed 74.00 0L Open 73.20 0L Open 2) 26QT-1A Temperature Resistance State 78.00 2.9 Closed 80.00 2.9 Closed 81.00 2.9 Closed 82.14 0L Open 3) 26QT-1B Temperature Resistance State 78.00 2.9 Closed 79.00 2.9 Closed 80.00 3.0 Closed 80.11 0L Open Note: The normal temperature of the lube oil fed to the bearings should be in the range of 48.9~54.4C. When the unit is operating at very high ambient temperature, the highest temperature of the lube oil fed to the bearings is allowed to reach as high as 71C. However, when the oil temperature in the lube oil header reaches 741.6C, the temperature switch 26QA for lube oil header high temperature alarm will open and annunciate an alarm. If the lube oil temperature continues to increase and reaches 80 1.6C, the temperature switch 26QT will open, which causes the unit to trip and shut down. AD-4 Valve Replacement (96CD Compressor Discharge Pressure Inlet). (Located at the bottom of the combustion chamber buckets)
