The Guardian Historical prsentation : The Guardian is a British national daily newspaper, edited by Alan Rusbridger.

It was founded in 1821 by John Edward Taylor and was called then The Manchester Guardian. Its called The Guardian since 1959. During the 19th century, the Guardian turned from a local paper to a national one. The Guardian was founded by a group of textile traders and merchants, and was known to be an organ of the middle class.
