Lesson Plan in English II I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to: A.

Identify words that describe people, places and things in phrases. B. Give examples of sentences with descriptive words. C. Develop cooperativeness when dealing with group works. D. Appreciate and share insights of their own lifestyle. II. Subject Matter Topic: Adjectives Reference: Creating Boundaries through English II, pp. 427-428 Materials: pictures, reference book, activity sheets Values: Being contented with the lifestyle you have. III. Learning Procedure A. Motivation Show a picture to the class. The picture shows a dirty man eating steamed rice and salt. Ask the students of what theyve seen in the said picture. After this, read the story entitled Mang Dodong. B. Presentation Ask questions afterwards: What kind of person is Mang Dodong at the start of the story? Does he blame anyone for his misfortune? How did you say so? If you are Mang Dodong, will you feel the same way? Why or why not?

C. Discussion I have here some phrases from the story. Lets read them one by one.

V. Assignments Make 5 sentences describing yourself. Story used in the motivation part Mang Dodong Mang Dodond came from a poor family. His wife Norma and children used to having salt and steamed rice for their tireless meals. They never complain about their situation for they enjoy the simplicity of life. One day, a distant relative gave him a huge inheritance that made him and his family an instant billionaire. They no longer share the same meal but enjoy the sumptuous dinner like lamb steak and red wine. Unknown relatives and assuming friends started coming to ask for a share of what they have. They cannot leave their mansion without

bodyguards because they feared that unscrupulous men may take their wealth. Life was nit simple as before. Mang Dodong was not happy anymore.

I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to: a. Identify the members of the Solar System. b. Classify planets into 2 major groups: Jovian and Terrestrial planets. c. Mention ways on taking care of the planet Earth. II. Subject Matter Topic: The Solar System Reference: Science and Health, Ma Theresa Mariano Ballon et. al. pp. 254-262 Materials: Graphic organizers, pictures, projector Value Focus: Taking care of the planet Earth III. Procedure A. Preparation 1. Motivation Mini Game(Boys vs Girls): Boys and girls will compete to solve picture puzzles. The pictures are related to the outer space, space exploration, etc. After the game, present the pictures and ask: Can you identify these pictures? What do these pictures show? B. Presentation 1. Activity a. Film Showing: Let the pupils watch a short video about the Solar System. b. Group Activity: Divide the class into 3 groups. Have the groups discuss about the video and let them answer a guide question designated to them. They will present their answers using graphic organizers. Group 1: What are the members of the Solar System? Group 2: What are the planets revolving around the Sun? Group 3: What are the two groups of planets? Then after each group had finished their work, they wil create a yell /cheer and present it to the class. And a group representative must present their answers to the whole class. 2. Analysis a. Show a data retrieval chart of the basic information about the planets. Let the pupils analyze the chart and ask the following: 1. What is the planet closest to the Sun? The farthest from the Sun? 2. What is the smallest planet? The largest planet? 3. Why does the Jupiter have more moons while Venus and Mercury have no moons at all? 4. Why is there a negative sign on the revolution of Venus?
