GATES ONE, TWO & FIVE Specifications

General
Transmitter Type: Medium Wave, 100% solid state. Power Output: ONE:1000 Watts (rated). Six power levels adjustable between 100-1100 Watts. TWO: 2500 Watts (rated). Six power levels adjustable between 250-2750 Watts. FIVE: 5000 Watts (rated). Six power levels adjustable between 500-5500 Watts. All capable of lower power PSA/PSSA operation. RF Frequency Range: 531 kHz through 1705 kHz. Supplied, tuned and tested on one frequency as specified. Carrier Frequency Stability: Crystal control oscillator meets FCC specification. 4 Hz in typical operating environment. RF Output Impedance: 50 ohms, unbalanced. RF Output Tuning: Integral T network will match a VSWR of 1.5:1 to 1.0:1 at carrier. RF Output Terminal: ONE: N female connector; TWO & FIVE: 7/8 EIA flange connector. Carrier Shift: Less than 1% at 100% modulation at 1000 Hz. RF Harmonics and Spurious: Exceeds FCC and CCIR specifications. Other Emissions: Meets FCC NRSC 2 when presented with audio signal conforming to NRSC 1 standard. Type of Modulator: Patented Harris Polyphase PDM. Audio Frequency Response: 0.5 dB from 20 Hz to 10,000 Hz (with Bessel filter out). Audio Harmonic Distortion: Less than 1.0% at rated power, 20 Hz to 10,000 Hz at 95% modulation. Audio Intermodulation Distortion: Less than 1.0%, 60/70,000 Hz 1:1, less than 1.5% 60/70,000 Hz 4:1, SMPTE standard at 1, 2.5, or 5 kW operation at 95% modulation. Squarewave Overshoot: Typically less than 3.5% at 400 Hz, at 90% modulation. Squarewave Tilt: Less than 3% at 20 Hz, 90% modulation. Less than 1.5% at 40 Hz, 90% modulation. Noise (Unweighted): Better than 60 dB below 100% modulated sine wave at 1000, 2500 or 5000 Watts. Positive Peak Capability: Greater than 130% positive peak. Duty Cycle: Continuous duty, 100% modulated sine wave at 400 Hz. Incidental Quadrature Modulation: 30 dB typical below 95% modulation of L+R channel at 1 kHz, at rated power. 40 dB typical below 95% modulation of L+R channel at 1 kHz, with the AMS-G1 exciter.
