Students will be able to understand and use every day familiar expressions and very basic phrases
often designed to meet immediate needs

GUIDING CONTENTS

Ask and give basic personal information on their home, possessions and people they know.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE(S)

By the end of this lesson, the learners will be better able to use the verb to be in order to give their
personal information.

We know the names of students, in a moment we can ask to the distracted
student something related with the class.

Procedure

1. Get all the students to sit in chairs in a circle except


one person who does not have a chair. This person
stands in the middle of the circle.
2. The teacher gives one instruction.
eg, Change if you are wearing a white shirt. The idea
is explain the instruction very well and with examples.
3. All the people wearing a white shirt must stand up
and change places.
The last person left standing without a chair quits the
game and the teacher gives a new instruction.
eg, Change if you live in a big house.
4. All the people living in a big house now change
places and the person left standing quits the game.
eg, Change if you have green shoes.
5. Keep playing for a few minutes.

We work with the alphabet with the letters for H to Z, the


idea is draw the letter and a picture too with an image
that starts with the letter e.g. the letter is J and I will draw
a Jellyfish.

4. For conclude the alphabet topic, they must match the


letters with the right pictures.
5. Name Memorizing Game
Students will sit in a circle. One of them Start by saying

"My name is_______", and then answer a question


about him/her. For example "My name is Catalina and I
like the color Purple." The next person says "She is
Catalina and she likes the color purple and my name is
Rose and I am 7 years old." The next person says "That
is Jo he likes Purple, this is Rose and she is 8 and I am
Jeremy and I like the color blue." It's a chain and the
kids have to repeat what the last people have said about
themselves.
6. I introduce the topic about Nationalities with an
exercise : Match countries and Nationalities.

7. Homework: Students should prepare the presentation


of three members of his/her family for the next class.
