6.1.4 The waste generated in phase-I and phase-II is directed to STP-1 and STP-2 respectively.
It is anticipated that water generation after recycling shall be to the tune of 80% of total
sewage generation.

SLUICE GATES

1. Design requirement

a) Sluice gates shall conform to IS:13349


b) Sluice gates shall be designed for specified seating and unseating pressure. Spindle shall be rising spindle.

2. Features of construction:-

a) The frame of gate shall be of flange back type, to be mounted on puddle pipe flange, provided dimensions
and hole drilling on the flange of gates are specifically provided to match pipe flange.

b) The gates shall be provided with electric actulator synchorpack type with starter, suitable for PLC based
automation application. Actuator should be of Rotork/Auma/Emotork male. Actuator should be weather
proof and suitable for outdoor installation.

3. Material of construction:

Wall thimble : CI to IS:210, Gr.Fg.200

SHOP TESTING WITNESSED:

All the sluice gates shall be tested as follows:-

Seat clearance check:

Before final assembly, seating and wedging surfaces shall be cleaned through of all foreign materials and final
adjustment made. With the gate fully closed the clearance between seating faces shall be checked with 0.1
mm. thickness gauge. If the thickness gauge can be inserted between seating faces, then wedging devices must
be readjusted for the gate slide or gate frame or both re-machined until insertion is no longer position. In the
event of remaching, clearance shall be checked again as stated above.

Movement Test

After completion of assembly each sluice gate shall be shop operated three times from the fully open to the
fully closed position and return to the fully open under no flow condition to demonstrate that the assembly is
workable. The torque required on each sluice gate shall also be ascertained.

Hydrostatic and leakage test

1) With the sluice gate in the closed position the unseating pressure stated shall be applied from the unseating
side for a period of 5 minutes and leakage shall not exceed the maximum leakage permissible as per
IS:13349.

2) Finally a differential of one and half times the seating pressure stated shall be applied to unseating side of
the sluice gate. Under this test there shall be no leakage through the metal nor shall any part be
permanently deformed.

Storm water pump

Vertical pump with mix flow or axial flow impeller capable to handle flood water complete in all respect with
suction bell mouth, column and shaft assembly, discharge head, motor floor plate, thrust bearing to take thrust
bearing to take thrust load of the pup. Pump to be driven by vertical solid shaft motor, operating on 415 volt, 3
phase, 50C/s column and shaft assembly will be self water lubricated. Discharge head of the pump will be
above the floor level.

Motor

Vertical solid shaft…………., electric motor in TEFC enclosure “F” class insulation with temperature rise
limited to Class “B” insulation suitable for operation on 415+ 10% volt, 3 phase, 50 cycle, AC supply and
conform to IS 325:/1978.

Electric Panel:

Panel should have independent incoming feeder suitable for 3 no. main pumps,……………. Other
……………load and having independent outgoing feeder for 3 main pumps………………. Etc. Incoming
feeder should be draw out electrically operated ACBS and 3 nos. pump of electrically……………of suitable
rating. …………………. And other load have MCCB/MCB.

Electrical panel should be designed in such a way that initially one pump will start automatically when water
level reaches at predetermined level, 2nd pump and 3rd pumps also starts automatically one by one as pre-
determined level and stop reversely at the same day. Further panel should have all protection devices for
automatic operation of …………….. for sluice gates, pumps etc., complete with starter, power capacitor,
single protection devices, overload / earth fault protection etc.

Minimum acceptable efficiency of the pump should not be less than 80% at duty point without negative
tolerance.

Motor should have atleast 15% power margin on duty point and 10% margin on the entire working range.
