COURSE SYNOPSIS
This course focuses on innovations and innovative programmes in primary mathematics.
The innovations and the salient features that make them innovative are explored,
including the aims and the philosophy that shape them. The approach adopted will be in
the form of case studies of innovations and innovative programmes in US (K-12
Mathematics), UK (Excellence and Enjoyment A Strategy for Primary School),
Australia (Australian Primary Mathematics), Singapore (Singapore Primary Math), Japan
and Taiwan, among others.
(Kursus ini menfokuskan tentang program-progran inovasi dan inovatif dalam matematik
sekolah rendah. Inovasi dan perkara-perkara menonjol yang menjadikan program
tersebut inovatif akan diterokai, termasuklah tujuan dan falsafah pembentukan program
tersebut. Pendekatan yang diambil adalah daripada beberapa kajian kes tentang
program-program inovasi dan inovatif seperti di US (K-12 Mathematics), UK (Excellence
and Enjoyment A Strategy for Primary School), Australia (Australian Primary
Mathematics), Singapore (Singapore Primary Math), Japan dan Taiwan.)
