Problematic areas of Second Language Learners

Vocabulary is the king and Grammar is the queen One of the biggest factor which I observed in learning any second language is Vocabulary. No doubt grammar has its own part but not more than the Vocabulary. Its the vocabulary which makes you fluent not the grammar. Grammar just guide you, how you have to use that vocabulary. If you know all the Grammatical Rules an only little bit Vocabulary. You are not able to convey lot of things but if you have lot of vocabulary you can express lot of things some time even with one word. More vocabulary you have more correctly you can express yourself. Especially, phrases and idioms. This is also the myth that you have to add only 2-3 words every day to become fluent. Actually you need lot of vocabulary to become fluent. So you need at least 15 to 20 words per day including phrases, idioms and proverbs. You need at least 10000 to 12000 words to become fluent. Who are not able to speaking fluently have only 3000-4000 words on average in their head. So you have to add 5000-8000 words. If you will add only two to three words per day then you can yourself calculate that how much time it will take you to add these words. Child doesnt have anything in his mind to compare so the child cannot compare he/she just accept and repeat that and speak the same what he/she listen. But this is not the case with second language Learner they try to compare second language with first language then speaks. Here the problem rises because grammatical structure are different for different languages and every languages has its own specialty. Try to think in English He compare the second language with first language and try to translate in his mind. Then he speaks. Even for thinking in English we need vocabulary.

Dont try to translate. Try to think in English. I know its not easy but just try. I just want to give you one example. Why we dont get success even after so many years of struggle in speaking? Vocabulary especially phrases, idioms and Proverbs Grammar especially Very advance Grammar almost near to linguist level grammar. Confidence will never come unless you have a good command on grammar as Second Language Learner. Correct use of Grammar Common mistake in Grammar We are not surrounded by those people who speaks English all the time or who can guide you all the time. If we are surrounded by those people who speaks English all the time. Then we could become fluent very fast.

Grammar Problematic Area Most of the Grammar talk about only general and basic things which is taught all over the world upto the secondary level, but when it comes to speaking you need deep grammar not only basic or academic advance grammar.
