He goes to Borsad, Gujarat to address the villagers that accompanied him on his first march. Before he even reaches the Borsad, the villagers have already prostrated themselves, and have been waiting for him. The villagers welcomed him by kissing his feet and garlanding him with flowers. "Gandhi Wilts Under Strain of India Salt War: Leader Is Ill Abed, but Campaign Spreads." Chicago Tribune11Apr.1930:25.Print. This article talked about how Gandhi was not feeling good on the march, but still did not give up. Though he was out of shape, the campaign spread rapidly. To participate in thecampaign, people from hundreds of miles inland, had seawater brought from the coast to boil and experiment with.
