Experience:
History Teacher 2004present: Instruct World History, African American History and United States History courses for grades 9-12. Implement school wide literacy initiatives and assessments. Guide and mentor students as they develop content and literacy skills. Floor Teacher 2005-present: Maintain a safe learning environment in the school setting. Help mediate and deescalate events and to solve problems by working along with administrators, staff, parents and students on a daily basis. Provide supervision in the hallways and Assistant Housemasters Office. Brockton High Junior Varsity Football Coach 2006-present: Teach students to develop football skills while focusing on the integrity, respect, pride and sportsmanship expected of a BHS athlete. Phoenix Alternative Program 19992004: Taught Social Science and Biology for grades 8-12 working with behaviorally challenged students. Implemented the Boys and Girls Town model of behavior. Redirected students behavior and helped them learn how to interact appropriately with adults and their peers. Encouraged and motivated students to obtain goals from integration to graduating at the High School. Junior High Social Studies Steering Committee member 2003-2004: Revised a city wide the social science curriculum framework at the Junior High level. Administrative Internship Program 2002: Gained insight on the functioning of the entire school system and the roles of various administrators. Attended school committee meetings. Worked directly with the Assistant Principal at South Jr. High School to learn the daily operations of the building and interacted with parents and community members. Teachers Aid -1993-1994: Assisted teachers with autistic students in the life skills program. Worked one on one with students. Helped students develop cognitive and social skills.
