Personnel: Sergeant Carey Ferrell will be finishing up in a light duty capacity this week; he has been fully cleared by his doctor to return to his normal patrol duties next week. Detectives: This week Detectives Holman and Berg were traveling on I-35 when a vehicle passed them at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was performed and as detectives approached the vehicle an odor of marijuana was discovered coming from inside. In addition, the driver of the vehicle had a revoked license and an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Upon further investigation, a small amount of marijuana was discovered inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and transported to the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center where it was further discovered that he had 12 bindles of Heroin in his possession. The suspect, a 21-year-old Cloquet man, was formally charged with possession of heroin and introducing contraband and/or drugs into a jail facility.

The suspect, a 22-year-old Cloquet man, was lodged at the Carlton County Law Enforcement Center. The suspect was formally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Fleeing on Foot and Driving after Revocation. Community Service: On Monday, Officers Reed and Martin provided a presentation on In-house Safety and Internet Safety to a group of Cub Scouts at Grace Baptist Church.

Wednesday I took part in the monthly TRIAD meeting. TRIAD is law enforcement and seniors coming together to help reduce criminal victimization of the elderly. This month's topic was Vulnerable Adult Services that are offered in Carlton County.

Patrol: On Tuesday Sergeant Palmer attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver failed to stop and a short pursuit took place. The driver of the vehicle ultimately exited his vehicle and fled on foot. Palmer pursued the suspect on
