This menu will remain in Excel till you uninstall Support MTO Program.

4.0 4.1. 4.2.

PROJECT SET-UP Do Project Set-Up at the start of each new project. This activity is required to be done for each project as the Technocode file changes from project to project. Before doing Project-Set-Up, you need technocode dictionary file. Split technocode dictionary file into two different worksheets of one excel file. The first worksheet is named as TechnoCode and second worksheet name as SecondarySteel. You have the flexibility to give some other names also but it is recommended to give this name only for ease in remembering. Keep technocodes of Lisega component in worksheet TechnoCode and technocodes of secondary steels in worksheet SecondarySteel. In case you do not want to use any technocode then delete the relevant rows from this technocode file. The strike-through format in technocode dictionary is not sufficient and ignored by Support MTO Program. Activating following sub menu does project Set-Up.

B C

A. B.

Enter PDMS Report filename using Browse... This check box is to include the MTO of lisega components from PDMS. Note that some of the LISEGA components manufacturing code & spec reference are lost while importing support from LICAD. Hence Support MTO Program imports quantity and tecnocode for some of the components (mainly, hanger rod, tie-rod etc.) wrongly. Therefore, the imported MTO needs proper manual checking. The program highlights some of the probable errors in excel MTO file. Click Open to make a new support MTO File. Click Close to dismiss & cancel MTO preparation.

C. 9.4

Plate or Sheet should be modelled as PDMS BOX only. All secondary steels structural components should be modelled under correct REST or STRU hierarchy. The naming is very important as they are considered as support tag. The

specification of the structural component should be as per techno code dictionary. If the PDMS model contains any structure whose specification & size is not availabe in technocode dictionary, then Support MTO Program can not convert these components into a meaningful techno code. Note that units of quantity in MTO file are dependend on technocode. If technocodes are not correct in MTO file, then qty calculation may be in-correct.

9.5

Normally the following units are used in MTO file as per work procedure WP010 A. Refer the work procedure for more details. A. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. Structural component , metre (m). Plates metre (m). Sheet sq. metre (m2). Lisega Components, Nos. Displacements, mm. Operating Load, kN. Preset Load, kN. Length, m.

9.6

Note that BOX are converted to technocode of plate or sheet based on xlength, ylength and zlength attribute of PDMS. Initially Support MTO Program searches for plate technocode from the tecnocode dictionary for each BOX item. But if the program can not find the plate technocode then it converts item into technocode of sheet. This is done as plates are preferred over sheets.

REPLACE PLATE OR SHEET TECHNO CODE WITH U-BOLT TECH CODE

13.1 In case the support has U-Bolt, then it should have a techno code for U-Bolt plate as well. In PDMS U-Bolt plates are normally modelled as BOX and hence these BOX components are converted into plate or sheet technocode. This sub-menu command converts this technocode into a U-Bolt techno code.

13.2 The designer should be careful at this stage as there may be supports having plate/sheet also along with U-bolt plate. Do not convert unwanted sheet/plate technocode into a U-Bolt technocode. Support MTO Program prompts for each replacement separately. If you are sure, click Yes else click No. Exit this command by clicking on Cancel. This command does not replace all the technocode in one go for the complete file.

CHECK AND REVIEW MTO

19.1 This command is used to check the MTO data. Most common errors are eliminated.

19.2

Support MTO Program checks MTO through specially designed dialog box. There are twelve checking options. Select any one of the checking option and click on Check. Go through the following to know more about each of the specific checking options. A. Both the Support MTO & LH are prepared batchwise. This option is to check the completeness of MTO. All supports should appear in MTO file as per LH. Support MTO Program provides list of supports that are not appearing in MTO file and saves the list in a notepad file. Note that you need to provide LH filename & worksheet name as per Clause no 11.2 (A) & (B). Sometimes a pipe may rest on primary steel or may rest on secondary steel of other support, still we create a support name (PDMS ATTA) at this point to indicate a pipe support. In this case, this particular support will be listed in LH but it will not have any support MTO. Support MTO Program prompts that you have missed MTO for this support but you have to ignore this message. B. Both the Support MTO & LH are prepared batchwise. This option is to find the list of supports appearing in MTO file but not in LH. Support MTO Program provides such list of supports and saves the list in a text file. Sometimes after issuing MTO, some supports are deleted or shifted from one batch to other batch. This checking option easily finds such supports.

Technocodes of springs are indicated in LH. The lisega spring code is a six (6) digit numeric number. The middle two digits defines spring rate. In LH spring code are indicated as per stress analysis. While issuing support MTO, designer needs to be sure that correct spring is indicated in MTO file. MTO file has technocode and LH has lisega code of a spring. Support MTO Program converts techno code into lisega manufacturing code and compares the middle two digits. If the program finds any mismatches, then it lists them in a text file. Note that you need to provide LH filename & worksheet name as Clause no 11.2 (A) & (B).

the corresponding changes in MTO needs to be incorporated. Support MTO Program finds such mismatches in a text file. E. Normally we do not model piping shear lugs in PDMS. Hence this item does not appear in MTO file automatically but the designer enters them manually. Before entering the shear lugs, designer can get a list of supports where shear lugs needs to be appended. Support MTO Program generates this list of supports as per support function and technocodes (GT, S support with vertical riser clamp etc.). A U-Bolt plate is required alongwith a U-bolt support. The U-Bolt plate is normally modelled as BOX in PDMS. These BOX items are converted into plate or sheet technocodes. Hence there is a chance that the designer may miss to put U-bolt plate in MTO file. Support MTO Program checks this and finds such cases. If a SR type Support is with trunion, then designer normally goes for double trunions to keep the support balanced. This SR is modelled in LICAD with half load and imported in PDMS with the help of LICAD macro. In PDMS, designer copies and moves this spring at truninon location from PDMS ATTA location. Now we have two springs in PDMS and one spring in LICAD. If a designer extracts MTO from LICAD, then there is a chance to miss MTO for this copied spring. Support MTO Program searches for a combination of SR and pipe technocode in same support. If it finds them, then the program considers this SR support with trunion and hence there must be two springs. The program lists such cases and saves them in a text file. H. This checking is done for the supports of insulated pipes. The supports of insulated pipes are supported with pipe clamps. Support MTO Program list such supports where pipe clamps are missing. There may be cases where hot pipes are supported with trunions. Designer has to ignore such cases. Note that the supports of non-insulated pipe may have U-bolts. U-bolt technocodes are considered as pipe clamps. I. The MTO file should contain valid technocodes as per technocode dictionary. If any technocode appears in a MTO file but not in technocode dictionary, then that code is considered invalid. Support MTO Program checks this and provides a list of such cases in a text file. For spring supports designer needs to fill displacement, preset load, hot displacement data in MTO file manualy. If these are not filled, Support MTO Program finds such cases and list them in a text file. Additianly for a vertical riser clamp & trapeeze, designer needs to fill length column. If this is not filled, the program finds such cases and list them in a text file.

All rows of MTO file should be unique with respect to technocodes. Same technocode should not be repeated for a single support. This checking helps to find such cases. This option checks Excel MTO file with ACAD MTO report. This ACAD MTO Report can be prepared as per Clause no. 6.0 ACAD MTO REPORT PREPARATION. Support MTO Program will prompt for ACAD Report filename before checking. Provide input as per Clause no 5.3 (A). After checking, the program saves the mismatches in MTO data in a text file. This is a drop-down list to select a particular support for viewing in list box (O). You can paste support tag or type it in this list box, if needed. Next to this drop-down list there is a label which indicates sequence of support selected from drop down-list (M) out of total count. This check box filters data of excel sheet. To remove filter un-check this. This is list box which shows the detailed component list of support selected in (M). This list box is designed to check & compare autocad drawings. The field Pos is serial no. The Qty is the quantity of the item as per active MTO file. The Description, Type and Material of the components are as per technocode dictionary. The Weight is calculated by the program by reading unit weight from technocode dictionary and multiplying it with its quantity. The Technocode is the code per active MTO file. Selecting a component in list box highlights the same in active excel sheet. This section indicates the weight of support components. The weight calculated by adding weights in list box (O). The type of component (Secondary steel or Lisega component) is determined from technocode dictionary. This calculated weight data can be used to cross-check Autocad drawings.
