Type of lesson: consolidation of grammar

Teaching aims:
- to practice the Past Tense Simple in various contexts (completing sentences,
filling a timetable, interaction with other pupils)
- to enable students learn about the grammar rules of the irregular verbs;
- to revise selected vocabulary items which they will be able to use for selfexpressing
- to develop their own inner criteria of correctness.
Teaching aids: worksheets, textbooks, blackboard
Didactic Strategies:
Techniques: deductive application of rule, memorization, use words in
sentences (the Grammar-Translation method), self-correction gestures, peer
connection.
Organization: frontal activities, group-work
Assumptions: Most pupils are confident in using Past Tense Simple.
Anticipated problems: They may have problems with some irregular verbs.
Working in groups will make them a bit noisy.

the lesson

The teacher splits the
