We Believe Prologue

Srikrishna Bhagawan who is in his mid twenties was at the Vijayawada railway station bidding farewell to his family members on their way to pilgrimage. The station which is the busiest junction connecting south India to the rest of the country is bustling with activity as vendors are selling their eatables and the passengers are in hurry boarding their coaches, there is a buzz in the air due to the humidity and the perspirations of the crowd.

As the train left the platform carrying his relatives to their pilgrimage Bhagawan felt relieved as it took a long time to realize their familys dream. He started walking towards the staircase to come out of the railway station, when he noticed a strange but vaguely known figure appearing to climb the stairs. He hurried through the stairs to catch up with that figure who is in his late thirtys, with thick beard and moustache which is rare among the North Indians and a heavy built personality making him look like a gigantic figure.

Bhagawan introduced himself to the stranger and both shook their hands in greetings, he who happened to be the State General Secretary of a Political Party. Meanwhile Bhagawan took some of the luggage from the visitor and steadily climbed the stairs to 5

We Believe reach platform No.1 for exit. The visitor does not know the local language Telugu and asked Bhagawan if he could help him in arranging darshan of the famous deity Kanaka Durga for which he readily agreed.

He was accommodated in a retiring room and Bhagwan quickly made arrangements to take the visitor to the temple of Goddess Kanaka Durga. It was blistering summer afternoon and Vijayawada is also known as Blazewada because of the scorching heat as the area is totally surrounded by the hills and river Krishna flowing along. The visitor got ready and both reached the temple without speaking much as Bhagawans Hindi speaking ability is much worse than his English. The temple was calm and quiet as there were few devotees and both had a pleasant darshan of Maa Kanaka Durga. The legend behind the temple is that Arjuna the middle of the Pandavas did his penance seeking Pashupathasra from Lord Shiva and received it on this hill, that is the reason why the place surrounding the hill is named after VIJAYA one of the 10 names of Arjuna.

The visitor was very happy and thanked Bhagawan for his company throughout and especially for the Temple visit which was the reason of his getting down at Vijayawada station unplanned en route to his home town.

We Believe Both parted after a brief shake hands and promises of meeting again in the near future which never happened till date

We Believe Introspect

3rd July 1902 Pre Monsoon days in India, What are you going to do now? The question kept on repeating in Swamis mind ever since his visit from Himalayas that concluded few weeks ago. He was totally absorbed in his thoughts and doubted that his close aide who followed him like a shadow too noticed this paradigm shift in his behavior and attitude. Apart from the chores there had been no significant assignments or public lectures attended by Swami in these days, his ill health also contributed to the present state of mind that his disciples are also aware of. But, for Swami it is not the question that is bothering him most, the very thought of the visions he had witnessed in the Himalayas and the brief encounter of a mystic sadhu disturbed his concentration. The theory of intra-dimensional voyage disclosed by the sadhu and the way how to prepare oneself to it made him introspect on all the teachings he had done in the recent past.

He started thinking, and a series of events have unfolded in his mind. The first and the foremost lecture he delivered to a larger group swept through his veins as it contained all the glory and the greatness of his predecessors and sages form the sacred land India

akashat patitam toyam, yada gachchati sagram, sarva devo namaskaraha, keshavam pratigachchati
Different streams having its different sources mingle their water in the seas, so Lord, the different paths taken by different men all lead to thee this is the hymn originated from Sri Adi Shakanaracharya the seer who propagated Advaita philosophy and unified the different branches of Hinduism to show the world what a majestic yet simple way of leading a Hindu life is. How cleverly I have used this verse to introduce myself to the World, yet as the son of that soil I have inherited the every right to do it at a stage to glorify my motherland and its spirituality was the logical conclusion to which Swami arrived.

The signs of drizzle made the surroundings of the newly constructed Ashram more pleasant and picturesque with Swami who sat quietly absorbed in his own world without even bothering what is happening around him. He was not in the state of trance as he usually practices it while meditating in private. The eyes were glued to the picture of his Master which hung on the wall opposite to him, he started to think what would have happened if I not meet him, what if I was born in a different place and never got the chance to meet him? then what he noticed in the Masters picture was a faint smile as if he knowing what he was thinking. The answer is simple the greatness 9

We Believe of the Master would go unrecognized by the world as if that happened to numerous sages and sadhus in India from ages and his very being and existence in propagating the ideals of his Master would never seen the light. How fortunate he is to have a Master like him and vice versa, a faint feeling of pride aroused in Swamis heart. I have credited all my teachings and lectures to be the one Ive received from my Master and consider myself as a tool to his endeavor in enlightening the world with his thought and doctrine. What had been taught to me, the same thing I have returned to the world to judge, to think, to practice and finally adopt in uplifting the lost glory and individuality of religion and nation as well. During the course of lectures on various platforms on different topics on religion and Hinduism, my illustrations were the extracts of my findings and learning that got synthesized in my brain to have come out as the words and sentences of clear meaning that are path defining. There goes the point of reasoning attached to these conclusions without which the whole point proves to be useless.

Every word I spoke created a tremor among my countrymen, it indeed shook the foundations of the nation and the new zeal of Nationalism and patriotism sprouted in them that were what the need of the hour. Considering the fact that all my focus and concentration was to make people believe that one should be proud to have born on this

10

We Believe sacred soil and have to perform their duties without jealousy and lust for power and God resides in every human and every human is God. More precisely he interpreted the Vedantic dictum to mean Every soul is potentially Divine Har Har Mahadev.

Swami, its time for Lunch he heard his close aides voice who was standing before him with folded hands, Swami smiled at him and followed him to his personal chamber when a thunderbolt struck from the sky which shattered the silence in Swamis mind. ------------------&-----------------Man is a being of volitional consciousness, for which thinking is not a mechanical process; but to think is the act of choice. Man must obtain his knowledge and choose his actions by a process of thinking. The only man who desires to be moral is the man who desires to live, if you choose to live, you must live as a man by the work and the judgment of your mind, if you do something on your own volition, you do it because you have decided for yourself that you will do it and not because someone else has told you to do it. This doctrine and the philosophy that had been circulating in his inner soul made Swami believe in two aspects thinking reasoning there by coming to a logical conclusion. So, he started to analyze his course and thinking from a different angle with reasoning. He also believed that with this simple introspect a logical solution can be arrived for which he was longing for a quiet some time.

11

We Believe All that great knowledge he acquired from various sources and the insight of religion that his Master had imbibed in him and eventually his discourses on Indian philosophy, its interpretations on religion were all the intellectual synthetic process of his mind and consciousness and thus he credited everything that he taught to be the direct teachings of His master, but its repercussions on the entire nation in the coming days of time that made him curious and restless. Most of his time now in meditation hasnt yielded much solace to his soul and the uneasiness to decide on what to do? crept even in his conscious state. He came to believe that the time is ticking fast and he has to decide on when and how before it is too late.

He seemed more content at the thought of reasoning and re-thinking on his messages he delivered to world and to his countrymen that will surely inspire their lives, motivating them for a more higher cause of nationalism thereby shaping the society in an organized way. He remembered saying Until the social life is well organized, the masses become educated, and the standard of living is raised India cannot flourish fully, which at the crux of the time seems more or less mismatching and as if directed to an Independent Nation. India was still under the imperial foreign rule and the people were oppressed and struggling to break their shackles. Poverty, diseases, lack of education and scarcity

12

We Believe of food is what the country was facing. His mention of religion or God which cannot wipe the widows tears or bring a piece of bread to the orphans mouth is neither a religion nor a God was appealing and appropriate, he even went ahead of denying God who cannot give bread here and gives eternal bliss in heaven!. Perhaps, that was the time that his inner conscious prompted him to reconsider his stand on Mukthi or attaining Nirvana. Swami kept on thinking without even noticing that the rain that followed after the thunder stroke has subsided and in the twilight he could see the newly constructed monastery containing the relics of his Master standing as high as the Himalayas for him as it was one of the foremost assignments he wanted to accomplish.

13

We Believe Revelation As soon as he closed his eyes to sleep, he was aware of a luminous glow into which he felt himself dissolving. Awake! the word sent a shrill in Swamis spine and instantly got off from his sleep, he noticed that he was sweating profusely and could recollect the vision he had just now saw in his dream. His Master with his infinite love and affection was disclosing the prophecy the day when he will know who he is; he will no more remain in this world. He will immediately give up his body through Yoga, with the strong power of will. At the very first meeting his Master had identified the vigour in him and gradually mentored his character and systematically enlightened his path to reach the pinnacle of understanding the true Hindu philosophy and the depths of Vedanta. He remembered the day when his Master took him to a state of ecstasy for getting the answers to the questions like who he was, where he came from, why he was born, how long he would be here in this world, all these questions were answered by him to his Master expect that he doesnt remember any of it and Master too never revealed them to him at any point of time. As an interpreter of Advatic thought to the modern world, Swamis convictions are that he was born not to have worldly happiness, but for fulfilling a divine purpose for the good of the whole world. His transformation from a partial agnostic as a child to a bold youth exploring the western philosophies and science and simultaneously questioning

14

We Believe does anyone has ever seen the God, to a Socialist and then finally as the savior of Hindu religion from extinction was splendidly crafted by his Master, but there exists the very soul inside the present body of flesh and bones which has its own likes and dislikes, the mind and thoughts which guide him to his actions and ultimately the desire of what he wants to become once he grow up as an adult irrespective of his understanding of his strengths and weaknesses. Similarly, Swami was very fond of playing among the boys of his age group and his alltime favorite game was King and the Court he invariably played the part of the King, and appointing others as his council. As a young kid his imaginations of the coachman with his whip was the most admirable hero. Do the game he liked and the fascination he had, had any kind of role to play in determining the due course Swami thought curiously.

As a wandering monk.to a global spiritual leader my role of a Teacher, Worker and a Leader had served its purpose for this life, what one can attain and accomplish in single life, I have done it in less than 2 decades time, just because of the divine intervention and guidance from my Master without which my life would be like a vagabond. In the pitch darkness of the early monsoon night with no stars glittering in the sky, Swami wanted to take stroll in the monasterys corridor . He wanted not to disturb his

15

We Believe disciples and calmly started walking with his arms folded to his back and immersed back in to his memories and the process of thinking and reasoning started again.

India my motherland that faced hundreds of years of oppression and foreign invasion and tyranny is just because the people are industrious, god fearing, spiritual and non selfish, who in the whole history of humanity never went beyond their frontiers to conquer anyone, who never coveted that which belonged to anyone else, whose only fault was that their land were so fertile, and they accumulated wealth by the hard labor of their hands, and so tempted other nations to come and despoil them. India is the land of many languages, religions, ethnic variations, castes and communal and provincial traditions had their sublime quality of tolerance and faith that they carried in their veins from generations to generations made them vulnerable for invasions and plunder. The religion lost its character the moment the practice of untouchable was invented and started deteriorating ever since. The strenuous rules and the scripts (Sanskrit) for worshipping the God made it difficult and unreachable to the common man to understand the religion and know exactly what that is preached in the sacred texts. Slowly the religion became aloof and nearing extinction. It is simple to understand the complex thing, but it is very complex to understand the simple thing. Hindu religion seems very complex contrary it is very simple, tolerance,

16

We Believe faith, truth and patience are the pillars the entire philosophy and the doctrine of the Hindu religion stands. But the interpretations, the evolution of caste system and so called selfish leaders took its toll on religion nearing its death bed. The very soul of India is its Spirituality, and the task ahead as well as his Masters wish was to rejuvenate the country men with new vigour and inspiration making them recollect the lost glory of their nation. It was a mammoth task with full of obstacles and criticism, but with the grace of Master who by no means lesser than any God to him made it so easy and simple in accomplishing it successfully. He identified the root causes for the deterioration of Hindu religion that is; when the world marched forward in science and technology, India remained smug in its own shell, glorifying itself in its donttouchism, caste obsession, and kitchen religion. To know his country and its great mysteries he travelled from Himalayas to the southernmost end of India and gained direct experience and reasoning that helped in reconstructing and revitalizing the country he thought within himself. He recollected that many a day he had to go without any food. He has seen the poverty and suffering for a brief period, but the inferno that was existing in his inner soul to find the answers to the countrys miseries made him strong with infinite strength and peace, but one statement of his made him unrest and biasing Give your message: teach what you have to teach and there stop. The Lord knows the rest. What if all of my

17

We Believe teachings could not produce a genuine man who got muscles of iron and nerves of steel, inside which dwells a mind of the same material as that of which the thunderbolt is made, One single soul possessed of these virtues that can destroy the dark designs of millions of hypocrites and brutes, then all my efforts and the dream of my country regaining its lost glory remains a dream forever. There was a shiver down his spine at this thought, as it came as an unexpected jolt to the very teachings he propagated; the essence of which is to inspire the country and bring few brave and courageous men to take the nations reconstruction and rebuilding responsibility. From a slow and steady walk leisurely absorbed in his own thoughts the walk became to a brisk as is reflecting the mood and the inner feelings that Swami is undergoing in that wee hours. There were sounds of pupil getting from their sleep and beginning for their daily chorus and in the east with the first light the awful truth was beginning to dawn on him, the time for taking decision has to be taken very soon and it should be practical. He proceeded to his chambers getting ready for the day and seeking a solution for the new thought that has sprouted in his mind with full contentment.

We Believe

Voyage 4th July 1902 The disciples noticed that the Swami got up early that day and entered the shrine of the monastery and closed its windows and doors for his meditation. Meanwhile, Swami with new source of strength ardently proceeded to meditate, though it was a regular practice for him but today it seemed to be of greater importance for him personally. He closed his eyes and wanted to drain all the thoughts that were disturbing him and tried to concentrate. He heard a disembodied voice and recognized it as his own, I am no metaphysician, no philosopher, no saint, but a sannyasin, as such I consider myself as a servant, not as a master in the world. I have successfully removed many

misconceptions about India in the minds of the Americans and British. Faced character assassination, depicting myself as a sexual pervert by the American Christian zealots, though came out clean from the false propaganda of the missionaries and their slanderous campaign. My intentions are international and not Indian alone. At this point there was lull and Swami immediately understood that there was a revolution of feelings in his mind that prompted him to answer for himself. I am selfish not for my own but for my country, I want to see India free from foreign clutches and march forward towards progress. India must raise, the masses and the

19

We Believe poor are to be made happy. We have to give back to the nation its lost individuality and raise the masses, but who will lead them and what would happen once the country regained its Independence? My countless messages that reached the masses effortlessly I should thank my western devotee who travelled the length and breadth along with me, who in turn scribbled all my speeches in his sort hand was by no means a simple coincidence, but it was totally a pre-defined act of God as he knows that in this very short time my message and my Masters doctrine should reach the global audience and gain the acceptance universally. I believe in God and believe in man, I believe in helping the miserable, I believe in going to hell to save others this is my selfish motto.

As the central focus of Swamis thought was on India, he started recollecting and recounting his perspective on the countrys state of affairs at present and dissolved again in himself introspecting on his latest comments he made to fellow men about the Nirvana and his stand. I had least interest in politics and for me it is God and truth are the only politics in the world, everything else is trash. The older I grow the more I see behind the idea of the Hindus, that man is the greatest of all beings. Where should you go to seek for God; are not all the poor, the miserable, the weak, Gods? Why not worship them first? We are the servants of that God who by the ignorant is called Man. So any of the coming generation ignores this very fact and tries to override the masses

20

We Believe and try to rule them instead of serving them, then my teaching on humanity and God will go into vain and that will bring no good to the nations solidarities. Will the re be a leader who does not have a shade of jealousy or selfishness, yet lead and inspire the country at large was a big question. I know that Ive already made history and coined as the savior of Hindu religion and blessed child of the sacred land, but what difference is it going to make in shaping the nation and facing itself to the world with high self esteem. His intentions of logic and reasoning where drawing him closure to the conclusion and he sat silently with his eyes closed. He could hear the sound of his breathing which made him think on life. It is the person, the life, which is the secret of power- nothing else; if the life is gone then the person is gone leaving nothing but his deeds and his memories. One cannot carry on with the memories of a person and working for the ideology of that bygone person how much devoted and ardent he may be. It requires ultimate sacrifice and bold spirit with utmost faith to achieve such an act. He grew more and more introspective and spent much time in Meditation. It appeared to him that he is not convinced totally as far as looking for the fruits for his action and Bhagawad Gita speaks as: Any conscious action is motivated by some expectation about the outcome, yet one is to be careful to not let this expectation be selfish in a certain sense. This is accomplished by surrendering ownership of action to Krishna, this is what he taught

21

We Believe and preached Work, work, work I care for nothing else. Work, work and work even unto death. It was like arranging the jigsaw puzzle for him to come to a conclusion, glimpse of a strange foreboding regarding his life on this mortal plane started appearing.

He need to see beyond the days of his times into the future of India, how far it will be developed once the country regained its Independence, How the masses are treated and the leaders who will lead them to the path of Glory. How the spirituality and his Hindu religion is taken care and what hurdles are waiting to be removed to see into the future is to venture the voyage what the sadhu from Himalayas has reminded him of. With strong determination and focus Swami initiated the process of Inter-dimensional travel to witness the events that will unfold in the due course of time. He took utmost precautions about this voyage as his body will be stationed at the same place but the soul will take the journey to the future with full conscious. He wanted to leap forward in time and wanted to see how well or bad the country will perform in the next 100 years. With all yogic concentration and the steps to be followed for the ascent to that dimension where time is treated universal and constant Swami sat in upright position with eyes closed and hands resting in his laps in a serene posture. He could see nothing but vast emptiness without any color and shape, through that a bright sparkle of light

22

We Believe emerged showing the path that was leading to infinity with no horizon. He could not feel his body but was conscious about the surroundings and the route he was following, and then came a surge with such an enormous force that was beyond his control which carried him to a place that was totally unfamiliar. He observed that he was now standing on cliff facing the sea and there he could the see the source of that bright mystic light which is emanating. Swami folded his hands as a gesture of offering his respect to that source of light which is amorphous and the light was not at all offending his eyes, he tried to speak to the source what was going in his mind. My quest for the future of my country had prompted me to come to you. May I ask who you are and in what way you can help me in achieving this task?. I am the personification of the knowledge, and wisdom possessed by the all the great souls on the earth, once their soul leave their eternal body, all the knowledge and the wisdom that they have gained in their life will be accumulated here and if that soul opt for renunciation it will be sent to the next higher plane what the humans call as heaven, but I am no God. The seekers and intellectuals try to synchronize with me for their quest and to find answers. I am a non existing entity though existing and am just like a hive with eternal nectar of knowledge and wisdom flowing perennially. I am a frequency in other terms which the receptionist will hear when tuned to match my signals. The great sadhus and sages, philosophers and academicians, inventors and discoverers have used

23

We Believe my services through their hard work, dedication, devotion and paramount faith in themselves. I can be a tool in a craftsmans hand; I can be fishnet for the fisherman, I can be the idea for an enthusiast and I can be the driving source for any living thing in principal. Now tell me what made you to venture this journey O! Pure hearted sanyaasin was the voice reverberated in the emptiness. Swami disclosed his unselfish desire of taking a glimpse of his countrys feature of events in coming century which may help in deciding the future of his stay as mortal in his current life. Swami could see the light source dissolving in itself making him see the opaque sky on which the shadowy images appeared. He could distinguish that the event that was appearing is real and not a fantasy or illusion. There was a bright and brilliant spirit among his countrymen vibrant with nationalism and attempt to break free from the British rule, then proceeded by a great war that broke in the west though had little impact on India. More and more leaders started emerging for the greater cause Indias independence and the movement was spreading like a wildfire. Then there was a heinous act by a British officer who took lives of hundreds of non- violent men and women who have gathered to protest against the British. Countrys untiring efforts kept on rolling till the country could see a true leader who preached and practiced truth & non-

24

We Believe violence. There were riots and massacres all over the country followed by famine at one part and floods in another part of the country. Finally, India gaining independence though at a price of partition with Muslim populated regions announcing as Pakistan. The country became a Republic having its own constitution which is sovereign, democratic, republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality, and liberty, and endeavors to promote fraternity among them. The constitution abolished the practice of untouchabilty which was like a cancerous growth in the Hindu religion. India as a young country started to grow in the fields of science and technology, exploiting its vast natural resources. Education, health & employment improved where the first shock of war from the neighboring country rattled its progress. Then the vicious culture in politics crept in silently whose goal is to rule rather than serve. One single family dictated and decided the fate of the countrymen. Ruling as they say from Father to Daughter, daughter to Son and to their heirs as if passing the baton of power; as if portraying a dynast from the ancient Indian culture. The two things that he warned about the love of power and jealousy took the centre stage in deciding the fate of Indians and thus the decline started again. The country witnessed assassinations of its so called political leaders, whereas political and economic disturbance prevailed all through the years. Unemployment, illiteracy

25

We Believe and lack of social justice aggravated making the things from worse to worst. Regional disputes, riots, and a new plague called corruption that destabilized the politics made the country weak and vulnerable for foreign and inland insurgencies. Terrorism as a tool for separatism posed a great threat to the national integration just because of the puny leadership. The natural calamities paid their part in shattering the dreams of farmers and corruption seemed to be the only religion for the people whose duty is to serve the people. The state was at utter despair, religion has become fractionally small and was meant only for gaining votes, the Muslims and the Christians were vowed for their upliftment, elevation of poverty remained a permanent agenda and the poor became beggars in their due course. Everything was chaotic, the citizen lost faith in law and justice and the crime increased to manifolds. Women who were treated as Mothers in this country were sexually assaulted by their own men and no safety for their lives either. The youth became more occidental than Indian and quickly adopted their culture. But to his site he could not see a single leader who is modern - westerner of westerner in his spirit of equality, freedom, work and energy, and at the same time a Hindu to the very backbone in religious culture and instincts, a leader who must be a servant of servants and must accommodate a thousand minds. Surprisingly, he did not find a single benevolent person with good motives, sincerity and infinite love for his country

26

We Believe who could transform Hindu religion into a Dynamic religion with his leadership, who made all round development in his state, by elevating the masses and building faith and confidence among themshockingly it was true.

With utter disbelief and disappointment, Swami not willing to see further enough simple closed his eyes and thought for himself thats enough.

This is not what I intended to see of my country? This is not the future, development and the destiny Ive dreamt of to this sacred land. What went wrong has to be sorted and corrected. I do not think any flaws in my teachings, and is it the country simply understood all my teachings as yet another philosophical, Vedantic, or religious preaching as usual? No! This cannot be done, there was a strong urge to close t he voyage and come back to the present, and hence with a conscious mind Swami followed the steps of his return to the present state and cautiously regained his composure. The trip was tiresome and exhaustive, he could feel nothing but total emptiness when he opened his eyes, yet all the events that unfolded before him made him more focused and at the same time he was indrawn and in somber mood. Quickly he recomposed to his normalcy and stood up to open the door and the windows that was shut.

27

We Believe

At the entrance of the door his close aide was standing patiently and watching Swami coming out of the shrine asked Swami! You took a very long time today in mediating, usually after a very long period Ive seen you spending so much time in meditation. Is there any problem which you want to share with me? For which Swami replied If there was another Swami he would have understood what this Swami has just done. And yet, how many Swamis shall be born in time. This answer was more like a surprise to the close aide and brother disciple who was walking along with the Swami on the lawns of the monastery when Swami pointed out a place on the river banks and said When I give up my body, cremate it there. This was more shocking than what he heard earlier and both proceeded for the lunch. Swami insisted to have his lunch along with other disciples in the common dining hall in contrary to his usual. Then he lectured on the word sushumna and its interpretation to his disciples which corresponds to the Nadi that runs up in spine till the Brahmarandra, he charged his disciples that they should try to discover the true import of the vedic mantras and make original reflections and commentaries on the sastras. It was not a coincidence but was involuntarily done what Swami was thinking at that time. With Yogic concentration one can end their life by invoking the sushmna nadi break the branhmarandra in the skull from where the soul leaves the body.

28

We Believe He spent few hours with disciples and later he had a stroll with his brother disciple for a distance and though he expressed some of his wishes about the expansion of the monasterys and finding new colleges etc.. His innermost thoughts made him restless. He had arrived to a decision and was excited too for the same reason, because for the responsibility he is going to bare is far bigger and mightier than the challenges what he faced in his life so far. He wants to be reborn so as to serve his motherland and this desire is not selfish. There is reasoning in them but they represent realized knowledge. The reason is that he heard the call from the hearts content, the realization of self through the physical body. His mind became tranquil and a strong, determined composure appeared on his face with a faint smile on his lips. Brother disciple noticed this change on Swami and felt pleased and certain that Swami has returned back to normalcy and everything will be all right from here after, but in contrary he doesnt know that in few hours Swami is leaving this world permanently. Swami was happy as it was the state of consciousness proceeded from the achievement of his logical interpretation. A morality of that dares to tell you to find happiness is the renunciation of the happiness. The only man who desires to be moral is the man who desires to live. As you choose to live, you must live as a man- by the work and the judgment of your mind. He seemed to establish the truth of his answers is logic, and logic rests on the

29

We Believe axioms that existence exists. Logic is the art of non-contradictory identification. Life is the reward of virtue and happiness is the goal and the reward of life.

He was quite impressed with two contemporary personalities of his time that he witnessed them in his inter dimensional voyage. One who preached and practiced only two words truth and non violence became father of the nation and Mahatma a Supreme Soul and another fakir or a saint regarded by his devotees who preached another two words faith and patience became God. In principle Indians are so fragile and open minded, that they try finding God in every soul and idolizing is one of their weaknesses and strengths.

The plight of Hindu religion and its spiritual leaders who demonstrated and acted as if the true descendents of God exploited the people of their money and trust, in the disguise of religion and service to humanity accumulated wealth for their own benefits there by totally ignoring morality and who indulged in heinous acts of adultery and infidelity. This was more alarming and concerned as the very roots of the religion were attacked by acts of such stupid so called God men. Spirituality is the soul of India. Enhancement of it is the sure way to greatness, and its erosion, the way to national suicide the first God one should worship is his countrymen. At any cost and in any

30

We Believe circumstances he could not tolerate this indifference and treason his own countrymen are committing.

My aim is Indias political freedom, and that the spiritual role is just like smoke screen, my ultimate ambition is to see India as the greatest nation among the far developed western countries in all aspects. The glory of which makes the other countries jealous a bit, and the trail of development the country achieved they want to follow. As a sannyasin or a Patriot saint the way people call him now he has fostered and interpreted what the Hindu way of living is all about and preached what his Master had inspired him to propagate at the proper time, our own motherland, a junction of two great systems, Hinduism and Islam Vedanta brain and Islam body is the only hope and Swami carefully assumed his physiognomy in the next birth he had chosen to be and to start again the national reconstruction work with a new dimension. With fountain of new thoughts and fresh zeal in shaping Indias future and the role he is going to play in the coming birth Swami returned to the evening prayer along with his close aide walking beside him. He quickly united the points which he seeped for answers and retired to his private chambers. The disciples thought Swami was restraint and his health will improve after hearing from the close aide disclosure of Swamis zestful, sparkling facial expressions he saw after the mornings meditation at the shrine.

31

We Believe

Rendezvous Swami paced in his private chambers before choosing to sit and meditate. He had a strong urge to communicate with his Master and get his advice on the decision he had taken early in the morning, because he was one who guided his path in this life and is the one accounted for everything he achieved in inspiring and motivating the countrymen and reviving the doctrine of Hindu philosophy. He reminded of his Master, who in his last days took him to the Nirvikalpa Samadhi an ultimate and the highest realization according to Vedanta, where you will know everything, the very purpose of your birth. And later in private, Swami discussed the process with his Master in attaining a feat through conscious and to remember the facts that are told in the Samadhi stage. This process takes utmost yogic concentration and Swami prepared to contact his Master in order to get his guidance and blessings. It was nearly 7 PM in the evening when Swami began to focus his attention sitting in his usual meditation position focusing entirely on his Master. He wanted to hear him and speak to him thereby bidding farewell to his current life with a determination of coming back to serve and lead the country not as a sannyasin but, as a true leader of people representing people, representing their goal and desire, representing the common man, and ultimately representing the his Country. He passed certain curtains of colors which

32

We Believe are levels in the practice of meditation representing the stages usually the practitioner seeks for solace and bring harmony in his thinking process.

He could hear his Masters voice lovingly calling his name and Swami felt elated and emotional on hearing to him after so many years and the tears started rolling from his eyes in ecstasy. The very voice has such a power that hearing to it Swamis strengt h reached to new heights and he could notice that he became again a young aspirant as if in his earlier days of encounter with his Master. My dear child!, I am happy that after so many years you desired to speak with me, and I am overwhelmed with your achievements in propagating the doctrines of Hindu religion and Vendanta in principle to the world. I am also satisfied that you have taken some permanent measures in continuing the legacy of my teachings and greatness of Indian philosophy by establishing monasteries at different places, these are the seeds you have sowed will transform themselves into huge banyan trees with their branches accommodating various life forms and giving shade to the people without any material gains in return. This selfless offering is what will transpire the secret of living a Hindu life and then ultimately respecting and worshipping each human as a living God. You have done more than what I have anticipated and you yourself capable of taking this task to such a magnanimous level. I feel proud to have a pupil like you who had given

33

We Believe everything to his Masters call and taken the responsibility of uniting India religiously, yet you humbly and with all humility credit all the glory to me.

What a great end you have brought to my recurring births and deaths and you are the one through whom I had attained salvation as my mission on the earth got accomplished. You learned from whatever good things you have come across anywhere; with your intellectual thinking and reasoning who have interpreted the complex doctrines in simple words and sentences which a child can understand and inspired not only your countrymen but the entire world thereby becoming the true leader, your belief that the earth is higher than all heavens; this is the greatest school in the universe is absolutely true and I congratulate you for this. Now tell me what I can offer to you, whatever I had, I have transferred everything to you except love and affection towards you which is never exhausting.

Swamis tears continued to flow and when the Masters voice stopped his mind and soul felt emotionally drained and reminded him the purpose of his desire to speak to his Master. Just as a young aspirant he sat before his Master with the same zeal and enthusiasm as before. He started narrating the state of his mind since 2 days and his Interdiamensional voyage to the future, what incidents he witnessed in the coming

34

We Believe century while standing as a mute spectator and the worry of finding not a single soul who had the qualities of man he dreamt to see and all the inspirations he injected into the veins yielding no fruits and eventual the state of Indias development as a free country deteriorating with the new disease called corruption. He expressed his concerns that even though the country had great legacy and centuries old spirituality in it because of the greedy and selfish irresponsible political leaders that the country produced and their corrupt nature exploiting their own brothers who still are rotting in poverty, fighting with diseases, their children with desperation and hunger in their eyes, women so vulnerable facing threat from their own men and the feeling of insecurity from every corner reminded him of his Mother India shivering in terror with her eyes drawn deep into her skull with poverty and hunger, not knowing from which direction the threat to her own existence will come from. The hope he ignited in the countrymen became a hopeless destiny to them the vision of giving back the country its lost glory seemed impossible. He recalled and recited about the Mother India looking as a bold, proud and energetic till the country attained Independence which was due to her sons. The sacrifices of the numerous unsung Heros for the common cause made her bold, their perseverance made her feel proud and their tolerances to the extreme conditions made her energetic in facing any kind of challenges that lay ahead.

35

We Believe But, once the country became Independent and republic she started ageing and ageing at a rapid rate. Directionless political leaderships, their selfish motives neglecting their own brothers in sharing the fruits of independence to them and ill treating the nations development was just like abusing the mother and its pride. The plight the country is going to face and the turmoil that is created among the citizens of his countrymen and ultimate destruction of faith among his brotherhood made Swami agonized and compelled him to take the decision which he needed his Masters advice. Swamis started to express his desire and recollections to his Master. I believed in practicality of the Vedanta than its verbal logicality, and you are the one who guided me through this thought about the salvation and Mukthi. I believe that the that the Mukthi should be a natural fulfillment resulting from the erosion of self-centeredness through unselfish service, discrimination and self-discipline, perhaps this prompted me that my actions in this life and the course I have followed may very well bring me a place in the heaven and attain salvation, but I am not accepting this offer for which every enlightened soul strive for.

I am voluntarily expressing my readiness to stand the sufferings of Samsara for all time in order to bring enlightenment and lead all the deprived souls in bondage and

36

We Believe serve them for their peaceful, prosperous, progressive and purposeful life styles, thereby serving and contributing to the sustained development of my mother India. In the due course of my life teachings and learnings I got the inclination towards the Bodhisattva doctrine- in which an aspirant, motivated by universal love, abandons his own Nirvana in order that he may work for the Nirvana of all the laboring in the cycle of Birth and death. So, Ive decided to take one more birth on this sacred soil what I call my mother and contribute to its returning to its glory and giving a befitting reply to the western world what we are capable of. I want to serve my country men with my work, my actions and with my image and character giving them strength and hope in rebuilding the nation and uniting them on the name of nationality. The more I thought about this rebirth the more I am becoming aggressive and I hear by seek your blessings and advice me to carry out this unfinished work of serving the country. Master please help me with this Swami completed his version and his inclination of denying salvation if at all there is one to his Master and waited to hear from him. Master spoke in a calm and serene voice to Swami, my dear boy! I really appreciate your concern to your country and the decision you have taken is very well welcomed. Your wish is totally selfless one and the desire of serving the mankind is next to the Godliness. There is nothing holy on this earth than serving the humans and helping

37

We Believe them to stand on their own feet. Though the desire is treated as a selfish motto but when accompanied with unselfish, universal love and unconditional faith of nationality you are the same a sannyasin in your next birth also with only difference is that you will not wearing the veil of spirituality because it stands no use as the purpose of it is already been accomplished by you in this life. The very idea of yours is making me feel jubilant at the same time adventurous. You are the same enthusiastic young disciple whom I first saw you, nothing changed except there is more intellect and reasoning that has seasoned in. You are acclaimed as the prophet of strength by the world and you will be the prime source of inspiration to the coming generations no doubt, but the voyage that you have chosen and the events that prompted you to return again to the mortal life seem unusual. Yet again yours is not a simple soul, I know it and your soul never seems quenched in bringing good to this world. The paramount love and respect you have for your country and the desire to see it as a magnificent land never makes you rest. You are a workaholic and work is your favorite tool. Let your wish be fulfilled and your progression to the next life be initiated. I give my consent and bless you as your Master in this present life and may not be in your next life. Swami felt content hearing his Masters approval and started speaking of his renunciation, its time and place and his goals to accomplish perhaps in a childish voice

38

We Believe to him. As Ive seen country gaining independence and in a short time got itself its own constitution by which each and every citizen has got equal rights in all aspects, this constitution is going to be the new religion for the entire country folks and I want to be born in the same year when they declare the country republic. Just what happened to Hindu religion since ages the same thing is getting repeated to their new scripture also. The true meaning and the fruits are far reaching the common man, and the so called intellectuals looting the masses in the disguise of politicians and pseudo secularists. Doctrines have been expounded enough. There are books by the million, preachings and teachings by many on morals and what is good and what is not, how to lead and be a leader. Oh, for an ounce of Practice! I want to be practical and want to practice what Ive taught yet be a servent and lead the masses. I will attract the attention of the nation by my deeds and achievements and the development I have brought to my place of origin. I will win the hearts of brothers and focus on their overall development with the limited resources I have for my disposal. Ive recognized that institution by which men advance in the path of freedom is through their democracy that their constitution provided the people elect their leaders by casting votes.

39

We Believe Ive also noticed that the organization is power, and the secret of it is obedience. I will cultivate the virtue of obedience, but will not sacrifice my own faith. No centralization is possible unless there is obedience to superiors. No great work can be done without this centralization of individual forces. The motto before me is elevation of the masses without injuring the religion; I can raise the masses and give them back their lost individuality without making them lose their innate spiritual nature. I will be their leader, a born leader and I know it is very difficult task to take on the role of a leader. I will be a servant of servants and will accommodate a thousand minds. Let there be barks of puppies that will not frighten me, no, not even the thunderbolts of heaven, but I will stand up and work!. What India wants is new electric fire to stir up a fresh vigour in the national veins, Fearlessness that I taught is absolutely necessary for the growth of the other noble qualities and we will do it. I will be aware of the two dangerous things love of power and jealousy, and cultivate ultimate faith in myself. The constitution is going to be my religion and I abide by it in my full spirit. I observe celibacy there by continuing my sannyasin life in the coming birth too. The hereditary politics is the root cause for the under-development of our country and even after 5 decades of its Independence, the poor remained poorer and worse. The masses were denied of their rights and were treated as just voters, forgetting the human values; they

40

We Believe succeeded in making the people politically ignorant thereby ruling them as many years as they can. The root cause for the selfish politicians greed and corruption is that they want to accumulate wealth for their next coming 5 generations and enjoy ruling their brothers as monarchs. It is pity, that the people of my country are so innocent that a small pat on their back makes them inspired, a courteous smile will pacify them from a painful sorrows and kind word of assurance for their plight make them connected to their leaders as if they are born to serve them. They fight with their own brothers on the instructions of their leaders without a second thought, the caste system was to exploit the masses and sit and roam on their shoulders, and by keeping their growth at check the leaders achieved the continuation of the family rule. The situation and the conditions are always same for the masses except the leader is replaced with his successor from his own family. The western countries too wanted to have the status quo in Indias development, it seems they do not want the country grow and one day challenge them for which they are fully capable of. I want to return back after 48 years and start afresh; I will lead a common mans life, follow the instructions of my inner soul. The speeches, writings and the philosophy of my current life will be my beacon and I will reach my destiny with the help of these tools. I may not be having the same privilege of having a Master like you in the next

41

We Believe birth also, but the messages that I have delivered to the world will be my guide and with obedience I will learn whatever good things that are there for my fulfilling the goal. Honoring the elders, learning a great deal of things from their experiences is going to be my true nature of understanding with same Hindu religion as my backbone and the nationalistic stand as a paramount objective. with this Swami completed his desire and vision of how he is going to realize his goal in the coming birth and waited for his Masters comments with an attentive ear as usual. You have chosen a path with your volition and I appreciate it with my full heart. The desire to live does not give you the knowledge required for living and you require a good teacher to guide you in your path, and you have cleverly found out the answer to this particular problem that you are going to be your Master in the next birth. You will lead a life with a code of morality and that is based on the code of values accepted by choice. Infinite power will come unto you never fear. Be pure, have faith, be obedient. No problem is small, face every problem with a smile and solve it with your agile mind. Once your soul departs from this body and enters a new one you will no longer remember about your past life is this is the nature, and I am curious to hear from you the place of your birth in independent India in the next life.

42

We Believe It is Gujarath Swami replied perhaps t his region has inspired me being the birth place of a great soul who practiced what he taught. Moreover this region has some extremities and limited resources for the offering. I will live and lead this area to prosperity and set an example to the other states of India where there are abundant natural resources to be exploited. I agree with you my boy and let me tell you a prophecy about your reincarnation, you will never know it by yourself about your previous life until from South India that people start believing that you are the patriot saint who is reborn to serve the country and lead them to their destiny. A destiny where there is overall development, upliftment of the masses, peace and prosperity over the region and finally the self esteem to their souls as well as to the nation. People will have the same reverence, love and affection towards you just as you are getting in this present life as a saint. This will happen when you are at twice of your age when the world recognized you in this current life. Master disclosed to Swami the events that will unfold in his future. Mothers womb is the heaven, where the baby rests and develops, in the same fashion nature as a mother will nurture your departed soul till the time of your return, she will safeguard and my blessings are with you with this Master concluded his conversation and there was silence all around.

43

We Believe There was great sigh of relief and Swami volunteered the initiation procedure of energizing the kundalini chakras in his body. By yogic concentration Swami could able to sense the flow of energy from the root chakra upwards, the Sushmna nadi about which He lectured to his disciples on that days afternoon class was bubbling with spirit and energy that could easily be distinguished. Swami consciously thanked God and his Mother for this life and the fountain of energy started erupting like a volcano seeking the vent. Swami still and with a faint smile on his face started facing the death as it is going to come to him in few moments. The soul, which has immense power and energy once got energized will break open the skull and gets observed in the omnipresent God was swirling in Swamis body and finally with a feeble sound joined with the universe symphony. There was a bright radiance all around Swamis body when the spirit left his body and at the same time the disciples could notice this exceptional bright light spark from the Swamis personal chamber.

The close aide with whom Swami shared most of his thoughts rushed to the private chamber and opened the door. Swami still sitting on his mediation posture with the same tranquility and serene face but, the close aide sensed some odd feeling and with utmost caution called Swamis name to make him call off his meditation and return.

44

We Believe There was no response even after two to three calls and then he touched Swami to shake him up; he felt a sudden jolt of shock as Swamis body was like a burning rod and at the same time Swamis body collapsed to the ground. As one spits out, the same way Swami left his body. The end of a magnificent patriot saint from India who after a small recess will return back to quench his thirst for a national reconstruction job he left unfinished.

**************The Beginning***************

45

We Believe Epilogue There was a small knock on the door and the Public Relations Manager stepped in with a faint smile on his face. The reason is clear as the day was scheduled with the first meeting with a film star from South India. The manager spoke softly Sir, the Film Star is in, Shall I call him to join you or ask him to wait for few minutes?, He was busy buried in the reports that were coming from various corners of the country on the ongoing campaign for the forth coming election, when he heard the PR Manger He immediately raised to his feet to welcome the guest. For the past few days more and more celebrities as well as commoners were supporting his candidature, the response to his calls was immediate and overwhelming. People started believing him as their savior. He himself was little bit worried though in private, will He be able to discharge his duties to the expectations of the entire nation? Will He be able to give the nation a new direction and drive it in the path of development? These questions put him little unrest, He himself believed that his personal stature was growing leaps and bound than the organization itself. He has seen the public support and the following in his career but not like this ever; this is something beyond any imagination and expectation, as if the entire nation was desperate for his leadership, eventually He came back to the present situation to greet the Film Star from south and followed the PR Manager.

46

We Believe There was a small crowd with selected members of his Party along with the Film Star in the visitors lounge. The moment He saw and the way the Film Star nodded at him, He felt a sudden intuition that this man delivers the answer to my questions. There was a formal introduction and both of them posed for the press. It was almost 10 minutes that the press cleared the room and now both of them were free looking at each other blankly in ones eyes as if there were no words to start a conversation.

Then the Film Star spoke to him We believe You are none other than the reincarnation of Swami, the one who guided the nation in the past on religious platform now is here to complete the national reconstruction work. I am glad to be a contemporary and shook hands with a person who has a task to be completed which was left alone in his earlier life. Is this the Answer to all my questions He thought and with a cheerful smile greeted other people in the room and bid farewell to them. As soon as he reached his anteroom He watched the large portrait that hung on the wall of Swami with leisure pose right hand under his chin was looking at him as if stating it is the TRUTH.

THE END
