S u b j e c t : T h e p a i n t s c h e m e of C o a l b u n k e r Dear Mr. Arif Recently we already fabricated one coal bunker almost, after fabrication finish, we will conduct the painting, detail painting scheme is same as Turbine steel structure and as follows: 1. Exposed surface of coal bunker 1) Painting twice for prime coat of inorganic zinc 85-89% Zinc weight, total thickness is not less than 50um; 2) Painting twice for intermediate coat rust inhibitive polyamide epoxy primer, total thickness is not less than 125um; Painting twice for high solids, polyamide epoxy tie coat, total thickness is not less than lOOum; 3) Surface coat of aliphatic polyurethane, total thickness is not less than 40 um, the colour is grey; Based on above, Total thickness of prime coat, intermediate coat, second coat and surface coat reaches is not less than 31 Sum. 1. Inner surface of coal bunker

Prime coat twice for inorganic zinc 85-89% Zinc weight, total thickness is not less than 50 um.

Substrate processing is t h e key factors t o the coating quality .'Three points paint, seven points construction ' .Substrate processes is not good. Even t h e anticorrosion paint best

cannot reach t h e antiseptic effect.It is similar t o build a

house,Basic play well, t h e house will not j a i l . 1.Before Steel structure surface coating ,it m u s t be t h o r o u g h l y clean the surface of steel oxide skin, welding slag, welding scar, dust, burr, rust, oil, grease and or etc 2> For the average steel derusting by sandblasting m u s t achieve Sa2.5 level, manual or dynamoelectric burnish machine derusting St3 level m u s t be

achieved. 3 x The welds and the position where j e t or shot-blasting machine cannot reach , using power tools mechanical to derusting , S t 3 level m u s t be achieved . 4^ Steel surface should be no oil or dirt, if any should use agents or diluent clean-up process; 5. The steel surfaces where eroded by acids , alkali, salt, uses detergent or hot water to wash before brushwork. 6> For special smooth steel surfaces,use thick e m e r y paper or derusting by sandblasting to make it rough, then brush w i t h diluent before brushing coating , otherwise t h e f i l m adhesion will be affected; 7. For already besmeared brush with primer or intermediate coat or topcoat coating, applied sand paper or burnish machine t o remove the old coat of the

paint.Make sure of whether t h e coating is supporting . I f not, removed all , or choose the related coating. 0 , The construction of painting: 1, use the compressed air to sweep the surface of t h e painted and clean up the sand etc. on t h e scaffold nearby t h e painted or under t h e floor before y o u r painting.The processed substrate of t h e steel structure should be timely painted the finish coating, the interval t i m e should not exceed 5 hours, and should avoid the rain in four hours. 2, t h e compound of the coating (1) during the compounding ,you should stir the m i x - u p till uniform first ,then remove the impurities such as t h e mix skin or other materials before use. The coating must be steal saved after opened. (2) It's necessary to use the measuring i n s t r u m e n t to be In strict according to the rules mentioned in t h e instructions when you are compounding the coating.Make sure the compounded coating has been stirred enough to make it

uniform and t r y to besmear; The compounding q u a n t i t y of the coating should be prepared according to t h e size and film thickness of the painted; it's no good to compound to much at the same t i m e ; you'd better to use out the compounded coating In 4 hours ,at least should not exceed 8 hours. (3) You should control t h e viscosity of t h e compounded coating,neither too thin nor too thick . The best viscosity for Spraying is 15s, you m u s t be carefully to make sure using the special t h i n n e r of t h e compounded coating if you are going to adjust the viscosity. The painting tools of compounding should maintain clean, and should not be m i x e d . (4) There are t h e r e ways you can choose to do t h e construction : high-pressure non-air spraying, roller coating and brush paiting. First, the method of high-pressure non-air spraying .You should Install a mesh above t h e m o u t h of t h e raw materials which is inserted In to t h e coating bucket; And make the prior painting to t h e part which is difficult to be painted such as the weld or the angle w i t h t h e brush before y o u r f o r m a ! painting construction; Place t h e machine of h i g h - pressure non-air spraying and coating bucket balanced, the available angle is 70 ~ 90 degrees. During the operating, you should strictly control the effective spray of t h e g u n , to ensure t h e gun after cover the space part last gun leave. Clean t h e machine ,gun and t r a n s p o r t hoses immediately after the end of each spraying to prevent paint j a m s which may affect the normal construction. Second, the method of roller coating and brush besmear,you also have to make t h e prior painting for the difficult part to make sure t h e r e is no blank ;use different tools for different coatings ;for roller coating and brush besmear, t h e Interlayer should be crisscross, each layer should m e e t t h e design requirements of reciprocating, layer n u m b e r and thickness. (5) besmear brushs should operate in the order of t o p to down,internal to

external. After each layer of paint besmear finished, which should solidify for 24 hours, means to touch t h e paint and t h e brush next Road. The interval t i m e should not be too long (the longest do not exceed seven days, if more than seven days, must be polished before paint t r e a t m e n t ) .

( 6 ) If t h e rain and fog or environmental humidity, which is more than 85 percent,wind greater than 5 level and metal surface t e m p e r a t u r e below t h e dew point, we should not engage in besmear brushs.

( ^ ) Inorganic zinc-rich primer

( 2 ) Adding special thinner, 5-8%,if the viscosity is too thick. ( 3 ) Don't make the construction when the relative humidity is more than 85 percent, or the temperature is below - 5 C in winter, above 40 C in summer. (4) Keeping ventilated and no fire under construction.

( 5 ) It should be stored in a cool, ventilated and dry room and pay attention to the fire.

( ~ ) Epoxy polyamide intermediate paint


1> Composition: By epoxy resin, flakey micaceous iron oxide, the unfloat aluminum paste ,anti-settling agent, anti-rust additive, mixed solvents and other components, polyamide resin prepared as curing agent and become A,B two-component packaging. 2^ Properties and Purposes: This is a kind of coating with strong shielding properties. Contain more pigment volume concentration of flake paint.Micaceous iron of the paint film can parallel directional overlapped arranged, similar to the scales of lap structure, therefore it has better closeness and anti-corrosion properties. It can be used as anti-corrosion coating

primer, and also as an anticorrosion coating, the intermediate coating with epoxy zinc-rich primer and other auxiliary products , to enhance the coating of closeness and anticorrosion performance.

(H .)Po!yamide epoxy coating


1- Composition: It is composed of epoxy resin, new antirust pigments , fillers, and additives, mixed solvent for curing agent with polyamide and made from A and B bi-component packing. 2^ Properties and purposes: The hardness of this coating film is better, it has a stronger resistance to

damp ,acidic ,and alkaline, it can be drying quickly, in additions ,it has an excellent physical and mechanical properties of the film supporting the use with the corresponding types of the primer , intermediate and finish coating ,which can be used as anti-corrosion for steel structure ,tank and so on. 3-. K Composition: It is made of Polyurethane resin,plasticizer, stable bask pigments, and additives ,Bi-component packaging. 2".
