Bank Street Business Improvement Area (Bank Street BIA) Position: Digital Community Marketing Co-ordinator/Special Events Salary:

This individual will be responsible for executing the organizations social media vision and strategy in concert with the Marketing Chair and Executive Director for both internal and external stakeholders. The Board provides direction to the Executive Director who serves as the CEO. Energetic, social media savvy individual who will elevate the Downtown Bank Street Business District through the digital network as well as live on-street engagement; Build on-line communities, capture and engage new audiences; Co-ordinate viral campaigns and implement targeted on-line programs to promote awareness; Identify influential on-line communities and develop and execute plans for engagement; Data mine for new trends, competitive initiatives and new ideas; Self-motivated, creative and detail oriented in participating in the ongoing special events programming through social media; Develop strong relationships with relevant media outlets to raise the profile of the Downtown Bank Street area; Enjoy meeting new people and connecting with them through various social media platforms and engaging the membership through these networks Confident writing skills to craft press releases, newsletters and member communications To maintain and increase the Downtown Bank Street as one of Ottawa's premier shopping district Team player Assist members with their digital/social media needs Assist the Executive Director and work with Board of Management

Skill Requirements: Excellent written and oral communication skills Good working knowledge of social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Linked-In, Mail Chimp, etc. Good working knowledge of WordPress based website Database (Access) Excel Microsoft Office File Management Events Management knowledge Self-Starter Bilingualism is an asset but not required Education commensurate with job requirements

Responsibilities and Conditions of Employment ! 1. Social Media Coordination Prioritize social media outlets and be responsible for overseeing daily posts/tweets/updates including website. Other duties include proper on line messaging consistent with the direction of the Downtown Bank Street BIA and relevancy to ensure consistency of messaging across multiple networks, collecting and consolidating online usage statistics and preparing reports specified by the Board on a monthly basis. Manage, maintain and update information on the Bank Street BIA website. 2. Online Community Monitoring Will act as the frontline personnel for the Bank Street BIA by interacting with customers, business owners and fans in real time on various web platforms. Monitor all sites on a regular and consistent basis. Duties also include acting as a liaison across the internet, participating in online conversations and answering questions, offering solutions and mediating conversations, and creating content for feeds and sparking discussion on various social networking sites. 3. Event Coordination and Support Responsible for research and analysis related to select BIA initiatives. Coordinate on special events and promotions in concert with the Executive Director and Marketing Committee Chair via planning and logistics, and communicate with members to provide information on such events/initiatives. Other duties, as may be determined. 4. Administrative Support Research and prepare e-newsletter and other marketing and communications materials as needed. Responsible for updating member database information, and keep organized files and records of all relevant communication with members. Assist in preparation of Board of Management and distribute relevant information to Board as required. 5. Reporting This position will work under the direction of and report directly to the Executive Director and Marketing Committee Chair. 6. Hours of Work The position requires a minimum of a five-day work week, 7.5 hours per day with some flexibility to allow for evening and weekend work. This will be compensated through time off in lieu of overtime. 7. Terms of Employment Conditions of employment are as stated in the Employee Agreement.
