Consideration of a Resolution Rescinding Resolution No. 2014-23, and Adopting
a Resolution Revising the Salary Range for the City Clerk Classification.
Recommendation(s): Adopt the attached Resolution (Attachment I) rescinding Resolution No. 2014-
23 (Attachment II) Revising t he Salary Range for the City Clerk Classification.
Executive Summary: On March 4, 2014, the City Council adopted the job description and salary range
for the City Clerk position. While the Council Report included the correct salary
range for the classification, the Resolution reflected a different range. The
recommended action will implement the correct salary range for the City Clerk
classification.
Analysis/Discussion: On March 4, 2014, in accordance with CCMC 2.52.040(o) the Cit y Council
approved the Job Description and Salary Range for the City Clerk position. While
the Council Report reflected the correct salary for the classification, staff
discovered the Resolution which Council adopted cont ained an incorrect salary.
The recommended action will rescind the previous resolution and adopt a new
resolution with the correct salary for the City Clerk classification.

RESOLUTION 2014-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL-BY-THE-
SEA RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2014-23, AND ADOPTING A
RESOLUTION REVISING THE SALARY RANGE FOR THE CITY CLERK
CLASSIFICATION
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the position of City Clerk with the adoption of
the City's Fiscal Year (FY) 201 3-1 4 operating budget; and
WHEREAS, on March 4, 2014, the City Council adopted the job description and salary
range for the City Clerk classification; and
WHEREAS, subsequently it was discovered that the incorrect salary range was adopted
on March 4, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the Carmel-by-the-Sea Municipal Code requires that the City Council adopt
a Position Classification Plan and Salary Resolution (CMC 2.52.020 and CMC 2.52.520 (B); and
WHEREAS, upon review and recommendation by the City Administrator in accordance
with the provisions outlined in CMC 2.52.510 the aforementioned plans may be amended by
Council action; and
WHEREAS, the City Council in accordance with (CMC 2.52.040 (D)) approves jobs,
positions and funding including job descriptions and salaries; and
WHEREAS, the Position Classification and Salary Plan must be adopted in order to
implement adding the positions approved with the adoption ofthe City's FY 2013-14 operating
budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA does hereby:

SEA AMENDING THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN BY
ADOPTING THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND SALARY RANGE FOR THE CITY
CLERK POSITION
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the position of City Clerk with the adoption of
the City' s Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14 operating budget; and
WHEREAS, the Cannel-by-the-Sea Municipal Code requires that the Cjty Council adopt
a Position Classification Plan and Salary Resolution (CMC 2.52.020 and CMC 2.52.520 (B); and
WHEREAS, upon review and recommendation by the City Administrator in accordance
