The Cape Girardeau County Area Medical Society CGCAMS - is a non profit professional organization incorporated in 1938. The CGCAMS represents more than 225 Cape County physicans. The organizations mission is to serve the people of Cape Girardeau County in matters of medical care, prevention and improve public health.

1. To enhance the reputation of CGCAMS
and its members through professional and personal development through continuing medical education programs for physicians and staff. among our members and maintain a member driven approach based on effective communication.

CGCAMS online Membership Directory features contact information of CGCAMS members. The Cape Girardeau County Medical Society Newsletter is published quarterly and provides articles on medical and health issues and membership news. Resource for information on health related legislation.
MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
ACTIVE: Any physician of good standing who is actively engaged in the practice of medicine requiring a legal medical license registration in Missouri. HONOR: Any physician who is retired or has reached the age of 70 and is practicing less than 20 hours per week. ASSOCIATE: Physician living outside of Cape County and other allied heath care practitioners of good standing.
4. To represent physicians interest when interacting with managed care organizations, third party payors, legislative groups, and regulatory agencies. 5. To be an effective advocate for our
members and strive to maintain the highest quality care for patients.
