Rutgerson has choosen to manufacture the products in Marstrand, Sweden
not through subcontractors. This gives us the opportunity to check
everything in detail at every stage of the manufacturing process and
expert professional craftsmen are controlling the entire production process.
Being situated in one of the worlds leading sailing centres, we do not only
have the ocean right outside our factory as our testing ground, but it also
guarantees Swedish manufactured sailing gear with the highest quality.

Offering an incredible strength to weight ratio our Cruising
block has taken the yachting world by storm.
Manufactured from the most technologically advanced
composite materials and produced with a partnership of
traditional skills and advanced engineering, we offer a block
ideally suited for cruising.
The key to its success is that both the sheave and cheeks
are produced from a highly technology advance composite
material that has such a great strength that no stainless steel
reinforcement is needed, consequently, dramatically reducing
the overall weight.
Another revolutionary feature of the Cruising blocks is their
actual construction. There are no ball bearings to deform when
subjected to static loads, or to get clogged up with dirt and
salt. Instead the blocks consist of a solid, stainless axle and an
extremely durable bearing of low-friction composite cast into
the sheave itself.
The Cruising block is incredibly versatile. Although it is
primarily designed for cruising and performance cruising, it is
equally at home in areas from dinghies to racing yachts and
both inshore and offshore cruising.
At Rutgerson we demand total reliability from all our
products. So, the Cruising block has been designed so that
no maintenance is required and it still comes with a
3-year warranty.

The Rutgerson Performance blocks are fitted with a head that can be fixed in 4 different positions or can be kept swivelling
for maximum use. The sheaves are made of either composite with durable bearings or aluminium with needle bearings for
high static loads.

The rope guides on the blocks, are made from
high tensile formed stainless steel, which
can withstand far greater forces than plastic
cheeks.
The swivel head and the yoke on the block are
good examples of advanced weight saving
technology. It is only reinforced where it
needs to be.
The double and triple blocks have single
cheeks between the sheaves, keeping weight
and size to a minimum.
PERFORMANCE LINE
You can tell that Performance blocks are different just by
looking at them. But the attractive and original design is not
just there for decoration it fulfils an important practical
purpose. No other block manufacturer today can offer
anything like it.
The fact is that the blocks in the Performance line have such a
unique construction and design that theyre actually
impossible to make without using the very latest
technology for advanced, automated manufacture.
Performance blocks are made from high tensile stainless
steel and the most technically advanced composite. The open
construction uses materials optimized for the lowest possible
weight in relation to the highest possible load, and sets
exceptional targets for the competition.
Another revolutionary feature of the Performance blocks is
their actual construction. There are no ball bearings to deform
when subjected to static loads, or to get clogged up with dirt
and salt. Instead the block consists of a solid, stainless axle
and an extremely durable bearing of low-friction composite
cast into the sheave itself.
The blocks in the Rutgerson Performance line come in three
sizes, 50, 60 and 80 mm diameters. Each size is available as a
single, double, triple and fiddle block.
The Performance line includes a range with high tech
composite sheaves with durable bearing and for high loads, a
range with aluminium sheaves and a needle bearing
particularly suited to high static loads, e.g. in the backstay.
All products in the Rutgerson Performance line come with a
three-year guarantee.
All Performance blocks can be made to swivel
or remain fixed. This is why the block shackles
and swivel heads are fitted with Allen screws
to make the conversion simple.
A compact alternative to fiddle blocks are
double blocks with an assymetric cleat.
The block takes up less height and
generates less friction in the system.
The open construction contains very few
moving parts, so the Performance blocks are
completely maintenance free.

Performance line and Cruising line
Rutgerson has a wide range of footblocks. They have a
revolutionary construction with not having ball bearings that
can deform when subjected to static loads, or get clogged up
with dirt and salt. All blocks are therefore maintenance free.
The blocks are reversible for use on port and or starboard side.
Most of the blocks are stackable which provides utmost use of
the space available on board.
The Cruising line that is made of the most highly technology
advance composite material you can find on the market today,
giving you a very lightweight block. The sheave has been
specially design in order to get the highest holding power of
the jammer.
The Performance footblocks are made in high-quality
aluminum, which gives the blocks an extremely high working
and breaking load. The new design is optimized to maximum
strength. They have an aluminum sheave, giving it an easy
maintenance block with no balls or rollers that easily can fall
all over deck. The Performance line is suitable to larger boats
that have extreme loads.

Maximum holding power and minimum friction!
The Rutgerson rope clutches are having a modern design and a
smart mounting, very much in line with a modern deck layout.
They have no sharp edges or any other hitches that will catch
the rope. The streamlined design dramatically reduces the risk
of inconvenience with tangled ropes.
The Performance rope clutches are the only rope clutch on the
market that are fitted with an integrated low friction sheave
which ensures that the rope runs smoothly, both when winch-
ing and when trimming by hand. The rope clutches makes the
rope running through much easier to handle.
The clutch will naturally allow trimming even when the rope
is locked.
ADVANTAGES WITH RUTGERSON PERFORMANCE ROPE CLUTCHES
1. Super easy mounting of endless ropes
Thanks to the inventive of the RC750HPX and the RC1000HPX,
the housing can easily be detached from the mounting plate.
This makes it particularly easy to inert and removes endless
ropes, for example furling lines.
2. Flexibility
No need to change the rope clutch when changing rope diam-
eter, they can handle ropes from 8 to 16 mm.
3. Most advanced materials
They are produced in the most technology advanced material.
It is made in the most durable composite material, anodised
aluminium and high quality Swedish stainless steel.

DECK ORGANISERS
The deck organisers are designed for maximal strength and
allocation of weight giving the ropes a longer lifetime. The
Rutgerson deck organisers are available in both Performance
line and Cruising line, giving the best alternative to choose the
most suitable organiser for the boat.
The Performance line is made in the highest aluminum quality,
giving the organiser a very high breaking load of 2000 kg per
each sheave. The Performance line deck organisers are available
in 5 different sizes with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 sheaves.
The Cruising line deck organisers are made in the most technol-
ogy advanced composite material found on the market today.
The block has an extreme durability and is totally maintenance
free.
All Rutgerson deck organisers can be stacked on top of each
other to maximize the available space. Each sheave is through
deck bolted which gives the organiser a very high breaking load.
Special bolts set are available separately in order to receive
optimal usage.

The result was:
It can be seen that for horizontally aligned sliders, the
Rutgerson slider gives the least resistance. This is in particular
evident for the kinetic resistance and for cases of high vertical
pre-load. The cause is likely to be the roller system employed
by the Rutgerson slider, which distributes the load over many
rollers and thus keeps the deformation and rolling resistance
very limited. It was found that the Rutgerson slider is
superior in horizontal sliding under heavy conditions.
Once again it was shown, Roll-link are clearly superior to
ball bearings. Quote: German magazine Segeln.
Good functionality and good design goes hand in hand, and
this is certainly true of Rutgerson Performance mainsheet
system. The unique construction has also made it possible
to reduce the size of the equipment drastically - which has a
whole range of benefits, not least a reduced risk of injury to
the crew.
The Performance mainsheet system is built up in modules,
which makes it easy to adapt to different types of boat and
specification. It also allows the build up of a more advanced
deck system one step at a time.
Being able to rely completely on all on-board equipment is
something experienced sailors take for granted.
The Performance mainsheet system increases the durability of
some of the most exposed parts of a yachts equipment.
The ball bearing is a famous Swedish innovation yet in the
Performance mainsheet systems Rutgerson have replaced it by
another revolutionary innovation from Sweden, the Roll-Link.
Apart from standing up to far greater stress than previous
bearing systems, Roll-Link offers many other great
dvantages.
Rutgerson is very proud to announce that Rutgerson is Best
in Test in the latest traveller system test made by the German
magazine Segeln in association with Chalmers University of
Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. The test sequence consisted
of the application of a pre-stress. After ten minutes a
continuously increased horizontal displacement was applied.
Vertical and horizontal forces were logged throughout the
test. The test was designed to give an objective measure of the
sliding resistance under realistic conditions, with a vertical
pre-load corresponding to rough conditions.
Rutgerson uses a system that is called roll-link system. The
system is hold together by a chain. In a ball-bearing system
the balls runs freely in the traveller.
ADVANTAGES WITH THE ROLL-LINK SYSTEM:
1. Maintenance free travellers that will never get clogged up
with salt or dirt - Hassle free sailing!
2. Easy to assembly since it is hold together with a chain and
the rolls will not drop all over deck - Reliability!
3. The force spreads over a larger area, which results in a
reduction in strain on the material - Longer lifetime!
4. The more tougher the wind and weather are the better the
roll-link function - Best in Action!
5. The roll-link gives you the comfort that when the weather
is though you can always relay on your equipment - Enjoyable
sailing!
In very light winds, the considerably larger contact surface
of the roll-link system creates somewhat more friction than a
ball bearing mainsheet traveller. Yet as soon as the wind picks
up (around 3m/s) the opposite applies. The roll-link runs freely
even in the most severe weather conditions.
Under pressure
Due to the construction of the roll-link, when subjected to
pressure it spreads the pressure on a larger area. The roll-link
will keep its original format. The balls or rollers in the ball
bearing will deform and instead of a circular shape it will
become more of an egg-shape, which needs large forces to be
pulled.
The distance between the rolls
In the roll-link construction there are stainless steel link that
keeps the rolls apart. This will result in that the roll-link con-
struction will not get jammed together. It will still roll freely.
The ball bearing can easily get jammed together since they do
not have a plate that will keep them apart.
One of the main advantages is that the forces are spread over
a significantly larger area, which means a dramatic reduction
in strain on the material. The construction cleans itself and
requires no maintenance.
Assembling a ball-bearing mainsheet system is not the easiest
of jobs. In fact it can be a real nightmare. The very slightest
mistake and the balls end up where you really dont want them,
like in the self-draining equipment
The rollers in a Roll-Link system are held together by a chain
and never let go of each other. This means that installation is
fast, whether assembling from scratch or performing
maintenance work.
If in spite of everything, a problem should occur in the actual
bearing system, the mainsheet traveller always stays attached to
the track. It cannot be accidentally detached.

The range of mainsheet track is extended with an extra reinforced track for the possibility
to assemble with a free span of up to 1000 mm. This track is more robust than standard
track but the functionality remains the same.
As an option we can supply a special fitting for the 32mm track to mount the track
between the cockpit seats. This has the added advantage of allowing the track to be
removed with ease for maintenance or when in the harbour and extra space is required,
only available for 32mm high beam track.

Rutgerson ofers four diferent high performance self-tacking jib
systems for boats up to 50 feet. Self-tacking systems are very popu-
lar on all boats since it is more or less automatic. No need to haul
or release a sheet. The radius of the track shall be approximately
95%of the J-measurement (the distance between the mast and
forestay). The radius of our standard tracks can be slightly adjusted
by placing the track on the foor with the upper surface facing down
and simply using your body weight until desired radius is achieved.

The Performance Genoa system comes in two versions:
Traveller with plunger stop for tracks with stop holes.
Towable traveller with control line sheave for tracks with
concealed fastening.

Performance Genoa track system requires no maintenance.
Warranty
All deck fittings from Rutgerson Marin carry a three year war-
ranty against defects in manufacture.
The Performance Genoa track system is designed for maximum
reliability, suitable for boats up to 50 feet. The system is made
in highest aluminium quality, giving it a outmost reliable and
well designed product. The travellers are available in 2 differ-
ent designs, either with plunger stop or with sheave for 2:1
control. The travellers have composite bearings and aluminium
sheaves.
General
Performance Genoa travellers can be smoothly adjusted under
load, thanks to a composite bearing material, which is fitted
between traveller and track. This composite bearing mate-
rial is also used in the twin sheaves, which spread the load in
the same way as much larger single sheave. The Genoa blocks
move in two planes to ensure the optimal sheeting angle
whilst minimising chafe and wear on all components.
All Performance Genoa travellers from Rutgerson are fitted
with either a stand-up fastening or with a sturdy shackle. The
stand-up fastening is designed so that the block is always kept
upright, even when unloaded. It is easy to change between
the shackle and stand-up.

Hatches
The hatch lid combines the highest grade Swedish Stainless
Steel and acrylic glass. The base is manufactured from an
extremely strong, UV protected high tech composite mate-
rial. The stunning low profile design is soft and round with
concealed hinges, no seams and only the stainless frame is
obvious.
Rutgerson innovation and development has produced a
durable and elegant, stylish hatch that will give many years
service. It is a range of hatches designed to compliment the
aesthetics of any type of boat, sail or power.

Portlights
Rutgerson manufactures portlights for both motor and sailing
boats. The have a very flexible solution which makes them
suitable all boats. The materials have been very carefully
selected, special Swedish stainless steel, silicone rubber seals
of the very highest quality, sturdy and resilient acrylic glass,
giving the boat a upgraded look.
All our portlights are approved area 1.

RUTGERSON NEW FLUSHED HATCH
Rutgerson is proud to introduce a totally new product, a
flushed hatch. The hatch is unique as it is the only flushed
hatch on the market, which targets medium- and large sized
boat manufacturers giving them the opportunity to add value
via a modern design in a cost efficient way. The hatch has
several distinct and unique features. Rutgerson is known for
their innovative solutions within different segments of the
marine market (sail hardware, deck hardware, portlights and
hatches) and this hatch is not an exception. It is a number of
innovative pieces that added together make the final product
a brilliant one.
First of all the draining has been solved already in the con-
struction phase of the hatch which means that the boat
builder or owner not has to think of that when installing the
hatch. This obviously gives the designer of the boat the
opportunities to really optimise the total construction. The
draining system is also unique in its way of having a net over
the drainage whole. This eliminates dirt and other filth to stop
the water to run freely
The hatch is also theft-proof due to the installation itself. The
hatch is screwed on from the inside of the hull.
The hatches will be available in several sizes. The sizes that
will be produced in the first phase are 200 x 300 mm,
500 x 500 mm, 600 x 600 mm and a round hatch with the
dimensions 500 x 500 mm. The hatch will have different
options giving you a number of individual choices to select
from such as different inner frames, gas-springs and different
opening mechanisms.
The material that has been chosen is, as with all Rutgerson
products, high quality Swedish stainless steel.
The different sizes of the hatches will all of them be designed
in two versions, one for teak-wooded decks and one for
plastic (glass reinforced polyester) boats. This gives the market
an exceptional opportunity to choose what is needed for
the boat.
The hatch is CE approved in accordance with directive 94/25CE,
ENISO 122116.

The Rutgerson full batten system is a revolution in mainsail
efficiency, making sails easy to handle both when sailing,
reefing, as when stored. The system is based on a series of
completely new components which work together to form a
consistent, thoroughly sound solution.
The Super Ring is a sail ring made of Swedish stainless,
acid-proof steel with unsurpassed strength and grip on the
sailcloth. The rings are easier to handle and fit, allowing
smaller sizes than normal to be used with the same results.
The Rutgerson headboard, made entirely from high tech
composite material, is extremely rigid yet at the same time
very light and our clew blocks for roller furl mainsails give a
low friction and high strength, allowing maximum sail area on
the boom and providing a correct angle of pull in the clew.
Rutgerson roller battens are a unique product which enables
the sail maker to design roller furl sail with conventional
horizontal battens.
Common features of all these products are excellent reliability,
good design, highly durable materials and superior
functionality. Thanks to refined design, construction and
manufacture, the innovative technology in our products really
comes into its own.
Rutgerson manufacture their own products in their own
factory, not through sub-contractors. Everything is checked in
detail at every stage of the process, and final assembly of the
products is carried out by professional craftsmen.
Carbon Super Ring One of a kind!
With a completely new material in the Carbon Super Ring we
can offer the same benefits as the original Super Ring, but
the Carbon Super Ring also manages to resist the accelerated
corrosion process created in the carbon sailcloth. The Carbon
Super Ring is the only one of its kind on the market.

Super Ring
The rings come in sizes of 10 to 55 mm internal diameter, and
are all made of stainless, acid-proof steel (316L). The strength
of the rings construction and the unsurpassed grip on the
sailcloth means that these rings can be used in smaller sizes
making the rings easier to handle and fit than other rings, but
with the same strength.
The fact that the Rutgerson Super Ring is also relatively cheap,
easy to attach and remove makes it by far the best choice both
for the sailmaker and the final customer.

There are also various types of integral slug slides and D rings
which are compatible with the Super Ring system, and thanks
to their integration provide exceptionally strong and durable
solutions.
SUPER RINGS
Rutgerson first introduced press sail rings as far back as 1972.
They were so well received that Rutgerson now supplies half
the world market with sail rings.
Todays Super Rings constitute a development on Rutgersons
original press rings which, when they were first introduced,
eliminated the need for sewing the rings into the sail.

Super Ring Press Tools
The stainless steel integral slug fits the Rutgerson
Super Ring system.
With the Super Grip System, Rutgerson is now covering areas
other than purely marine applications - such as tarpaulin and
canvas for professional and structural requirements.
The Super Grip System is based on Rutgersons patented sail
ring in 14 or 20 mm. When installing the ring several
different kinds of fittings can be attached together with the
ring. Smooth, flexible and durable.
The basis of these fittings is the Rutgerson Super-Ring,
SR14L and Super Ring, SR20LD.
The unmatched holding power of these lightweight rings
provides a strong reliable anchor for the attachments. The
attachments are made in 1.0 mm (19 gage) high-grade
stainless steel, and are the same quality as the Super Rings.

Wire attachment
The ring support fitting jointly take up the forces created by the tension of the wire. The thimble fitting holds the wire in place,
thus reducing the need for extra reinforcements of the corners. The forces will be on the wire and the ring. The thimbles are made
of 1 mm (19 gage) high grade stainless steel.

clewblocks includes products in ultra-modern materials such
as high tech composite, as well as items with more tried and
tested characteristics made of aluminum with a thick, highly
resistant anodized surface layer.
One thing all the products have in common is that they are
easy to fit. Rutgerson supplies not only the components
themselves, but also the necessary tools for fitting them.
Rutgerson offer complete systems which ensure the very best
quality and efficiency in production.
Rutgersons high-quality sail products are also a great asset for
the final customer, for whom Best in Action is a key concept.
The high tech composite headboards are extremely light,
while fulfilling the most stringent demands on strength and
durability. On the one hand the material itself has a low
weight. On the other hand, the new manufacturing process
and superior strength of the component mean the minimum
amount of material is used. The new headboards are thickest
precisely where it is needed - at the sides where the stress is
greatest. This material also enables the boards holes and slots
to be made with smoothly rounded edges to prevent wear.
The headboards are designed in such ways that by turning
them on different sides, the sailmaker can choose between
two different sizes. The new manufacturing process also
means that the new headboards are available at a highly
competitive price.
1105-135 is made in strong high tech composite material. This
material replaces the aluminium. All edges are well rounded.
No extra work on the edges for webbing attachments etc and
it makes full use of Rutgerson leech blocks and hinges. The
headboard is symmetrical and can therefore be used in two
different positions, either short side (A) up or long side (B) up.

CLEWBLOCKS
Outhaul Clewblock with removable sheave. Extra edged
webbing slots for a chaffe protected webbing
attachment. suitable webbing size 45 - 50 mm. Removable
self contained sheave with needle bearings for applications
where the outhaul line is already fitted inside the boom.
Rutgerson series of clewblocks. Strong and functional
to be integrated in the clew of roller furling mainsails.
Obtains maximum sail area and an optimal angle towards
the outhaul. For best value for money, the clewblocks are
constructed with maintenance free bearing and chafe
protected webslots. The blocks are manufactured
with ether composite oe aluminium sheave and the 1692
series offers removeable sheave for applications using outhaul
lines already fitted in the boom.

The battens stiffness is defined using the following method:
One length of the batten is positioned horizontally with
support 1000mm apart.
Next, the batten is stressed in the middle of the freespan until it bends 100mm from the horizontals. The load is
measured in grams.

Roller battens are a unique product which enables the sailmaker to
design rooler furl sail with conventional horizontal battens. Gives jibs
and self tracking jibs a performance comparable to jibs with
conventional battens. Rolls up smoothly on the furling system and
also allows the boat owner to use a roller furl cover. Can also be used
in roller furl mainsails. Made of high grade Swedish stainless steel.
For round battens with the same diameter or
2 battens with different diameters.

Rutgerson har introduced the first manufactured connector for
battens. It is made of stainless, acid proof steel. Joins battens of
identical diameter. Especially suited for vertical battens in roller
furl mainsail. The refined design facilitates the connector to
enter the roller furl mainsail. The connector is strong and
easy to separate. The parts are glued upon the batten ends with
Araldit 2015.

This batten fitting is made in a very light and extremely durable composite material which offers very
high UV resistance.
This fitting can be used together width all M10 threaded battcars and is very easy to fit. Used with full
battens up to a dimension of 40 x 6 mm.
Outhaul slug slide 1201, 1202, 1203 and 1204 fits headboard such as
1112-xxx and 1113-xxx and can be connencted with hinges 1160 and 1162.

pre-drilled to fit 6mm wire,
but can be drilled to fit wires
upto 11mm

lines, shrouds at the spreader
point and the top of the back
& forestay.
