Health Room Needs The health room is need of crackers, juice boxes and small water bottles. Please support our wonderful nurse, Joan McDonald and donate these much needed supplies. Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Sophomores Herff Jones will be back on campus on Wednesday, April 2nd during lunches in the mall area. Please be sure to order your class ring on Wednesday so that you can participate in the ring ceremony in September. An $80 deposit is required. Our ring specialists will assist you with your order form. Juniors Any junior that hasn't ordered their Ardrey Kell Class Ring can do so on Wednesday, April 2nd during lunches in the school mall. Ring brochures are available in the main office. Please bring your $80 deposit on 4/2. Attention! Attention! Would you like to learn more about Health and Wellness? Well, come to the 4th Annual Community Health Fair at Ardrey Kell High School (Mall Area) on April 3rd from 5-7pm. We will have approximately 45-50 Health and Wellness Organizations ranging from fitness, summer job opportunities for teens, to the benefits of Chiropractic and Massage Therapy along with Jasons Deli, Smoothie King, Subway and TCBY to name a few. Tell your friends, neighbors and bring the entire family!

Attention Juniors & Seniors

The Prom is coming up on Saturday, April 26th and Men's Wearhouse in the Promenade is here to help you out with renting and finding the perfect tuxedo for you! Once again this year, the Mens Wearhouse is partnered up with our PTSO to donate $5 for every tuxedo rented through them. Go check out the latest styles and help support your PTSO. The AK Athletic Booster Club 8th Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser Monday, April 21st at Providence Country Club The AK Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament registration is full of foursomes! We have a few single spots still available. No worries. We are accepting names to be put on a waiting list. Please contact Dede Foody at dfoody@carolina.rr.com, if you would like to be placed on the waiting list or are a single and would like to play.

Graduation Rehearsal
Wednesday, June 4th 5:30 7:00 PM Bojangles Coliseum Graduation Rehearsal is REQUIRED of all seniors who plan to participate in the Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, June 14th at 12:30 PM.

Senior Cap and Gown Orders


Over 120 seniors have NOT ordered their Caps and Gowns for graduation. If you have NOT ordered you need to go to the Herff Jones website at www.hjgraduation.com and order ASAP. Caps and Gowns are being delivered in May.

SENIORS participating in the Knights In Action Program


Senior hours are due no later than 3:00 PM on April 4th. Senior hours submitted after April 4th will NOT be accepted for any reason. All other students can continue earning their hours through the summer.

AKABC will award Eight (8) $1000 Scholarships to Eligible AK Senior StudentAthletes!
The Ardrey Kell Athletic Booster Club is proud to announce that they have doubled the number of $1000 scholarships that they will offer to eligible senior student-athletes in 2013-2014! A total of eight (8) $1000 scholarships will be awarded: four (4) $1000 scholarships recognizing excellence in athletics and academics, and another four (4) $1000 scholarships recognizing outstanding leadership and athletics. These awards will assist selected graduating AK student-athletes in paying to attend 2-year or 4-year colleges in the fall. Eligible candidates will have earned at least a total of 2 varsity letters prior to graduation and meet minimum GPA requirements. Citizenship, sportsmanship, and financial need will also be considered for both types of scholarships. For additional details and detailed eligibility criteria, senior student-athletes are encouraged to get an application from their coaches or Student Services. Check it out and apply now! All applications must be completed and submitted to Student Services by Monday, April 23, 2014. Winners will be announced during Senior Night on May 22, 2014.

AK SPORTS I think the Groundhog has a concussion!!! AK Athletic Trainer, Jacqui and Doctors, can you help??? Weve had to move quite a few games again this week due to 3o degree temps and rain, so keep up with us as we give the groundhog a baseline concussion test to determine if he/she can go back to play, and we have a schedule that we can keep! Ashley Hughes tags another one in for us at the opposite post and the 1-0 win with great defense played by all especially Amy Marston and Lindsay Bish! Rachel Tarravechia recorded another shutout and was phenomenal in goal for the nights! We lost to Catholic last Friday and are 6-2 (3-2) so far this season. We face SoMeck 8 Conference West Meck today here. Our AK JV WSOC team is 4-3 (need more info) Congrats and good luck to Coach Monte and teams! AK V Baseball rallied from 6 runs down top of the 7th to defeat South Meck 8-6 Tuesday night. A walk here, hit by pitch there, and we chipped away at leads until final out! Great pitching by Logan Beehler, Henry Ryan and reliever Carter Love with Zach Featherstone, Cole Smith, Max Garner, Aaron Pilkington, Kollin Schrenk, Ben Carrick, Doug Norman, Bryce Rhead, and Logan Beehler getting on base to help us win. Our AK JV BB was defeated by Providence in an added game last week, but defeated them last night in another added JV game to help fill the schedule. We are 3-4 in this early season. Congrats and good luck to Coach Bagwell and staff and teams!! Center field spectators-please make sure

you buy a game ticket and only park in our AK parking lot! We cannot park in the neighborhood due to congested road and our Westin Glen neighbors need their spaces. AK V Softball won Tuesday night over South Meck 12 - 2 improving our record to 8 - 2 and 7 0 in conference. We were led by Haley Ewert 4 for 4 with 1 rbi, Erin Powers 4 for 4 with 2 rbi and Amanda Franks 2 for 3 with 1 rbi and good pitching by Hanah Davis. Our AK JV SB lost Tuesday night to Butler 13 - 12 and currently has a record of 4 - 3 Leading AK was Leigha Helms who belted a 3 run homerun along with many other players contributing hits throughout the game. . Next action is Friday at West Meckwith Varsity playing at 4pm. Good luck to Coach Bove and staff and teams this year. AK MGOLF match with Weddington at PCC was won by AK. AK 259 Weddington 270 Hunter Oxford 37 Mason Elmore 38 Mark Capecci 41 Chase Kerley 43 We lost a rough one to Providence yesterday by 12 strokes. Mark Capecci had a 34 and Chase Kerly had a 39 for some great rounds. We are 3-1 (2-1) Next action is the County Championship at Pine Island at 12noon. Good luck to Coach Whitney and team!! Ardrey Kell 156 Providence 142 AK MTEN extended their winning streak to7-0 by defeating to go 7-0 (3-0 conf). We play Providence here on Monday at 4pm for a rescheduled match. AK V MLAX defeated Porter Ridge and were led on offense by senior captain Peyton Harris and sophomore John McDaid with 2 goals and 1 assist apiece. Freshman Carter Watkins scored two goals, including his first career goal, after returning from a pre-season broken collarbone. On Monday, we fell to 5-2 with a loss to Charlotte Catholic, the current #2 ranked team in the state. We were led by Peyton Harris again with 3 goals. AK JV MLAX is 2-3-1with losses to Hough and Catholic and defeating Porter Ridge 9-1. Good luck to Coaches Price and Gowin and teams! AK V WLAX was defeated by Catholic last night to now be at 5-1.
