The said industry includes hotel/lodging, restaurant, event planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise line and other fields in tourism. It offers boundless opportunities for the inspiring and career minded students of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and estaurant !anagement program. "n#the#$ob Training is still widely in use today. %erhaps, it is the stepping#stone to distinguish which career is interesting and can be more succeeding. In fact, the training takes place on the &ob, it can be e'tremely realistic and no transfer of learning is re(uired. In addition, it is a type of skill development where a trainee learns how to do the work through hands#on e'perience. In )avite State *niversity#Imus, it is re(uired for the first year students of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and estaurant !anagement to have an "n#the#$ob Training +"$T, and

accomplish a -./#hour of training for hotel practicum. The author conducted his "$T at "ne Serenata Hotel located in 0ulong Bayan, Tirona Highway, Bacoor, )avite from !ay 1 to -2, -/31.

Significances of the Training "n#the#$ob Training signifies to improve the knowledge, (uality of service, skills and abilities provided by the student. This training would be beneficial for the author to have a total hotel e'perience. It will help the trainee to be familiar with the different kinds of tools and e(uipments and also the duties and responsibilities of a housekeeper. 4inally, this training will be a great benefit to the author so he could have a clear understanding in housekeeping procedures.

The Training +rea (unction !ousekee#ing ,e#artment This section shows the organi9ational structure of "ne Serenata Hotel, the facilities in the housekeeping, the e(uipment used and the Standard "perating %rocedures +S"%, that being implemented. Housekeeping 0epartment is the most important part of the hotel. !embers of the housekeeping staffs should possessed the following standards like cleanliness, orderliness, sanitation, eye appeal, safety and guest comfort. The responsibilities of housekeeping are guest rooms? maintenance and maintenance of the public areas. In terms of guest rooms? maintenance, you should maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in the guestroom, attending to service re(uest of the house guest and furnishing the room with necessary amenities and supplies such as bed, linens and appliances. Second, in maintenance of the public areas, you should maintain the cleanliness and orderliness in all public areas which include hallways and grounds. /1ui#ment The Housekeeping 0epartment uses e(uipment that helps him to be more organi9ed, cleaned and attractive. They use broom and floor polisher for removing fragments from floors and dustpans to carrying garbage and dirt. They also use basket to hold the disinfectant and other cleaning and rinsing solutions. In window cleaning, they used glass cleaner and s(ueegees and they also used mops for washing and cleaning the floors.

2orking Policies and Procedure

The Training /-#erience This section shows the task performed by the author, the strength, weaknesses and the problem encountered during his "n#the#$ob Training.

Task Performed 4irst day was very nervous as always because you don?t know yet what are the things that you should do. @hen the times and days goes by, the trainee felt comfortable and en&oyable in the hotel. 7s a housekeeper, one of his duties is to assured that everything is in order. 7fter the orientation, He knew his duties and responsibilities. These are his duties6 The supplies must be readily available such as bed pad, bed sheet, comforter, two towels, shampoos?, soap and garbage bag. He always makes sure that it is free from dirt to avoid unnecessary odor and disease. The proper disposal of garbage is necessary. 7fter making the bed, the bathroom will be soaked with soap and water to disinfect it. 7fter that, proceed to sweeping and dusting the furniture.

He makes sure that it should be attractive and he assured to them that you feel better and you have a complete rest. 7nd last, for them to have a good smell while staying, He sprayed air# freshener to feel good. @hen the rooms are not use or unoccupied, He make some make#up rooms including dusting and sweeping the floor to maintain the cleanliness of the rooms. Sometimes when the trainee had a free time, He talked to all the staffs, lifeguards and other people that manage their company with regards to their hotel. The trainee had a great time and He can say that "ne Serenata is a great place for you and your family for their most their most affordable yet the most memorable place to go to.

The @eaknesses of "ne Serenata are the following6 GCack of supplies GCack of employees G%oor connection of @i#4i access Observation and ,iscussion The trainee easily observed that all workers inside the working 9one must wear their proper uniforms during working hours. 7nother thing that the trainee observed was the rules and regulation that the company initiated 4urthermore, Trainees are not included as a visitor. 7nother was the 5" smoking, sleeping and by standing rule. =adgets like mobile phones and portable mp1 players are not allowed during working hours. =adgets must be placed on the locker room.

Insights The training inside the hotel is learning e'perience each day. The trainee learned to appreciate the lessons studied in school. He was able to reali9e the importance of theories and formulas that was discussed inside the classroom. 7nd also to understand that everything that was thought inside the school can be a tool that can be used in future career. "n the &ob training is one method by which students is given chance to apply the theories and computations that they have learned from the school. It also helps the students to ac(uire relevant knowledge and skills by performing in actual work setting.

Outcome The trainee gained a lot of knowledge. He learned how to carefully performed housekeeping procedures such as bathroom cleaning, dusting, window cleaning, bed making, and

cleaning the floor. This "n#the#$ob Trainee is very important to him because it enhances and develops his confidence, alertness, being attentive, knows how to value his time and to be on#time every duty.

Performance )ating 7s a housekeeper, He makes sure that everything is in order and gave a total hotel e'perience and satisfaction to every guest?s that arriving and departing at the hotel. He was confident, alert and attentive in making beddings, cleaning comfort room, public hallways, dusting and so on. His supervisor admired him for being punctual in his training. ;very duty, the trainee gave his best to do every task that assigned to him. So, He believed that his performance was e'cellent.

Problems /ncountered 0uring the training, there were some une'pected situations that happened. This started when the food to be delivered was delayed. He assigned to deliver it and the guest was a bit mad because of that situation. However, as a housekeeping staff, it was advised to always attend to guest?s needs properly. Because of this, the author was called by the duty manager and told not to do it again. !oreover, he also said that they needed to be more careful in doing their tasks.

He was able to finish the re(uired two#hundred forty +-./, hours successfully. "ne Serenata Hotel is known for its e'cellence in service and atmosphere. It lives by the stronghold company pillars defined in cleanliness, fast service and (uiet efficiency. carefully designed promising complete rela'ation and getaway. 7fter his on#the#&ob training, the author improved his housekeeping skills encompass a wide range of skills from emptying trash, bathroom cleaning, window cleaning and bed making. It helped him in boosting his self#confidence in doing task. !ost of all, He developed his personal and managerial skills during his training. ooms are

Conclusion & )ecommendation The trainee recommends to the hotel of having an enough supplies for complimentary items such as shampoos, toothpastes, toothbrushes and the likes. In terms of the staff, it should have enough staff to accommodate well and provide total satisfaction for every guest whose arriving and departing. In addition, they should also improve their internet facilities so that guests who need it may easily connect. 7s whole, any establishments? goal is to make every guest feel comfortable and satisfied to the services that they offered.
