Earth Receptacle

The generation of electrical static charges is a natural phenomenon. The charge is normally dissipated harmlessly to ground; however, an arc produced in the presence of flammable vapours is a hazardous condition. Aircraft must be effectively and securely grounded prior to performing maintenance, and when loading/off-loading are being performed. The earth receptacle must be adequately bonded to a permanent earthing system. The LECTRO-TECH Earth Receptacle has a 500mm tail that can be ThermexWELDed or clamped to the earth electrode system.

Manufactured from brass and HC copper with 70 mm2 copper earth wire tail of 500mm long.

Code : E-190

anti-theft cable - KWENA & COMPOSITE

EARTHING AND BONDING CONDUCTOR - KWENA KWENA conductor cable is a composite stranded cable made up of tinned copper wires and galvanised steel wires that are braided-interwoven to form the cable. KWENA can be used as earth bonding cable or jumper bonds where earth tails are above ground, visible and open to easy theft. The complex braided and interwoven wires of steel and copper make it very difficult to separate and is unattractive and uneconomical to copper thieves and scrap dealers. KWENA is available in "bare" or "insulated" in black or clear. KWENA has been tested by the SABS and Gerotek Test Facilities for electrical properties. Example: 70mm2 copper cable equivalent KWENA is "70". Drum length Approximately 290m. Short lengths available on request and depending on stock availability.

EARTHING AND BONDING CONDUCTOR - COMPOSITE COMPOSITE conductor cable is a composite stranded cable made up of tinned copper wires and galvanised steel wires that are rope layered to form the cable. COMPOSITE applications and benefits are the same as for Kwena. COMPOSITE is available in "bare" or "insulated" in black or clear.

ThermexWELD of KWENA and COMPOSITE KWENA and COMPOSITE conductors can be welded using ThermexWELD exothermic copper process for joining of cables. ThermexWELD can be used for joining both of these cables to Copper conductors and Steel structures. The ThermexWELD process generates high temperatures that melt the wires, resulting in a fused joint. This high temperature will cause some melting of the tin and galvanising of the wire strands. To prevent corrosion and or any galvanic reaction in wet or buried Kwena cable, the joint MUST be properly sealed. Denso Paste & Tape After welding the joint must be Denso Paste/Denso Tape wrapped. Alternatively a bitumen must be "worked" into the cable strands whilst the joint is still hot. Protective covering of the surface strands of the cable only is not sufficient.

E-Mix & E-Mix super conductive

CONDUCTIVE EARTHING COMPOUND (CONCRETE)

Two different compounds are available, both are an easy to use compound that: - reduces soil resistivity, - improves earth electrode contact with soil, - improves grounding earth resistance, - traps moisture, - will not leach out over time. E-Mix and E-Mix Super Conductive have been tested by independent authorities.
-E-MIX

Resistivity 1.9 m Conductivity 5.2mS/m Cement included, ready to mix with water. Size: 25 kg | Bag = 0.03 m3 | Code: E-170
- E-MIX SUPER CONDUCTIVE

Resistivity 0.1 m Conductivity 100mS/m Conforms to EN 50164-7 & IEC 62561-7 Cement included, ready to mix with water. Size: 25 kg | Bag = 0.03 m3 | Code: E-172 EARTH RESISTANCE CALCULATOR:Contact us for a copy of our "E-Mix Earth Resistance Calculator" - for single vertical rod - for trench earth CALCULATES: - resistance "with" and "with-out" E-Mix - number of bags of E-Mix required
USER INSTRUCTIONS Mix the cement supplied in the bag with the E-Mix compound with water to give a slurry consistency.

Drilled hole-(70-100mm dia): Fill hole to approx. 50% of depth with E-Mix. Place earth rod in centre of hole. Fill the rest of the hole with E-Mix. Agitate rod to remove air-pockets.

Trench-(250-300mm wide): Add half the depth (25-30mm) of EMix to trench and allow to set so that earth conductor is supported. Place earth conductor on top of EMix in trench and add a further 2530mm of E-Mix. Allow E-Mix to semi-harden (24 hours depending on temperature) before backfilling trench. Compact backfill 48 hours later.
