Objectives

: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: (a) construct simple sentences using simple present tense correctly (b) read and copy the passage which have constructed together with the teacher into their notebooks

Stages Set-induction (3 minutes)

Content Samples of Pets Shadows 1. Rabbit 2. Dog 3. Tortoise 4. Fish 5. Hamster 6. Spider

Activities 1. Teacher prepares slide shows about the shadows of different types of pets. 2. Students are asked to guess the pets by looking at the shadow.

Pre-Writing (10 minutes)

Samples of Questions : 1. What can you see from this poster? 2. Do you know the name of a cats children? 4. What do you think a cat like to eat? 2. Would you like to make this animal as your pet? Why? 3. How do you take care of this kind of animal?

1. Teacher displays a poster of a cat. 2. Teacher asks questions to elicit students response about the poster. 3. Teacher guides the students to come out with the description of the animals and writes down their contribution on the board.

While-Writing (20minutes)

1. Teacher sets a goal and tells the students that they are going to write a short description of the animal. 2. Teacher works with the students and uses their contribution to build up a short text.

3. At the end, students are required to read the description they have constructed together and to copy it into their notebooks. Teaching aids : Poster

1. Students are divided into groups of 3. 2. Each group is required to come out with a short description of another pet using the text they have constructed together as a guide and model. 3. Teacher facilitates the students. 4. At the end, a few students will read out their work to the class.
