The create a varity of logos, using Adobe Illustrator, with consistant content but different designs

Process

The first thing I did for this project was brainstorm. I used the FOCUS process to sketch all my ideas. Then I used Adobe Illustrator for all the designs. The first design I used the line tool and just put arrow head on the ends. The middle tool I used the pen tool to create my banner type object. And then used the line tool with arrow heads again. The last design I just used text and the line tool. I had to use all my skills of design and also the skills I have acquired using Adobe InDesign.

Every sense the company started, we knew we would need a good website. So we designed the website in SquareSpace. I took all of the picture that are on the website. Objectives

To create a professional looking letterhead and stationery that a company could use. And to get famliar with a letterhead and stationery setup in Indesign.

Process

I created the two parts of the logos using Adobe Illustrator. I then exported those files to Indesign where I used the instructions to make a business card layout and a letterhead layout. By tweaking and playing with my two types of logos, I finally came up with a simple business card and a matching letter head for my brothers music company. I used all my skills I have learned in my visual media class thus far. I used my Adobe skills to navigate my way through Illustrator and Indesign.

Objectives Process

To blend two images together using masks

I found both images on a popular blog I follow, and uploaded one into photoshop, then placed the other one on top. I added a mask so I could begin using the brush tool to take away parts of the picture I didnt want. I took away the hard edges then used a softer opacity to blend the image as desired. I then added the filters to both pictures. I then added the text boxes and text I wanted.

Objectives

To get famliar with designing and printing a brochure and the layout assosiated with that.

Process

First I created the Capital Fitness Logo in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted a simple and powerful logo that would capture the eye of someone really looking for a gym. I think took that logo and put it in Adobe Indesign to create my brochure layout. I used a normal layout for a folding brochure but I cut out the top and bottom on the front page to give it a little edge. I then used my color scheme, mainly grays, to design a layout. I placed my images and placed my text in and worked on it for a couple weeks to get the lay out right so everything looked like it had enough space.

Objectives

To create a webpage using html and css, and understand how to set up a website

Process

I created the website and used html and css in TextWrangler. I have never done any type of coding before so this was very interesting and useful to learn in class. They gave us the basic codes and css format, I changed several things such as the background and wording, and also I inserted my logo I designed. I used a tutor to help me get the coding down and help me do things such as increase the padding and make the logo go into the center.

PHotodesign

Photoshop Create a design to show case a picture we had taken.

Date

2/7/2014

Course
Communications 130, Section 2

Instructor
Caryn Esplin

Objectives

Create a design and incorperate a picture we had photograped into the design, and to place a color swatch from our photo in the design as well.

Process

I formulated a plan using the FOCUS process before I began. I picked a color scheme, then using my D5100 Nikon SLR I took this photo, using good light and composition. I edited the photo and created the design in Photoshop. I used Levels, saturation, selective color, and sharpness to edit my picture. I then used my design skills and the help of the lab assistants to create the layout. Getting the colors I wanted for the swatches was the hardest part. But it all came together to look exactly like I wanted it too.
