The most popular brand in bakery products and snack food nationwide. Initially it started very small and now by the grace of God it has become the single largest unit in the country. It is the pioneer bakery and snack food company to achieve ISO 9001-2000 certification in Pakistan. Supply Chain at bunnys: The daily demand is estimated by the sales person delivering bread to its assigned territory. He submits this demand daily after taking estimates from the retailers and submits it to the production manager. From him this estimated amount is transferred to production planning manager who enters this into in house software. The foresting for purchasing raw materials is done by sales department depending on variables like weather, last year sales and usual demand from the specific territory since past three weeks. The production planning department estimates demand and forwards it to the supply chain department which goes to the chairman for approval. After it is approved it finally reaches the purchasing department who finalizes the materials and vendors according t the quality standards and places the order to the preferred vendor. Sales person

Quality assurance: There is a specific quality assurance department at bunnys. It had six people and a head supervising and inspecting all the assigned tasks to ensure quality and excellence throughout the whole process. Quality inspection is done any time and the inspector moves around the plant and keep checking processes and people for quality. The quality inspector checks bacteria level of workers working in the facility any time and is asked to wash hands when needed. For finalizing the vendor first time the quality assurance manager goes to the vendor physically and see if the quality standards are according to requirement. They have fixed suppliers because of the hassle that is faced if they have to go and check quality standards every time they have to place an order with a vendor .Quality and innovation are one of the most followed concepts at Bunnys. They believe in bringing new and improved products after every some time and meeting and excelling in quality standards is an important consideration by top management and the employees collectively.

Sales forecast: Bunnys have an established sales forecast department. The company has its own sales force that is responsible for selling activities. Sales forecasting is an integral part of business management. Without a solid idea of what your future sales are going to be, you cant manage your inventory or your cash flow or plan for growth. The purpose of sales forecasting is to provide information that you can use to make intelligent business decisions. Bunny has its own private transportation who distributes the final product from the factory to different retailers throughout Lahore. Vans are dispatched at 2 am and are sent daily to the retailers with the supply of goods. The whole process is fully computerized as everything is recorded. The demand forecasting is done on daily basis for example the sales of Tuesday are based on the actual sold goods on Monday. Other than these factors such as weather conditions and days of

the week are also taken into consideration. The demand is usually more in working days and the past data shows that the demand significantly decreases in summer vacations. The supply chain and the production planning department collectively make forecasts and plan production accordingly. Since they are in business for quite a long time they are pretty accurate in planning production and hence minimal level of over production or wastes. They have a rough demand estimate for all the territories and any alarming change in demand for any area can be observed easily by seeing its large difference from the average.
