PUBLIC HOLIDAYS ORDINANCE

An Ordinance to declare the law with regard to State public holidays

[16th December, 1946] Short tit !. ". This Ordinance may be cited as the Public Holidays Ordinance.

I#t!rpr!tatio#. $. For the ur ose o! this Ordinance, the day ne"t !ollo#in$ a ublic holiday shall mean the ne"t !ollo#in$ day not bein$ itsel! a ublic holiday or %unday. C!rtai# %a&' to (! ho i%a&'. ). %ub&ect to the ro'isions o! this Ordinance, the se'eral days mentioned in the First and %econd %chedules hereina!ter re!erred to as ublic holidays, shall be (e t as ublic holidays in %ara#a() Pro'ided that, i! any o! the ublic holidays mentioned in the %econd %chedule does not !all on a *onday, such ublic holiday shall be (e t on the nearest *onday thereto.
