My Sociology Preparation Fellow Aspirants, ( That is right, no more friends here..

) I am really sorry for the delay in uploading my 'strategy' for Sociology. My marks were not that good. So I am not convinced whether I should call it a 's trategy' at all. 158 in Paper I and 143 in Paper II. Paper II, I can understand as I attempted only for 240 marks. But Paper I, to be honest, I am a little bit disappointed. All is well that ends well, I guess... Sociology was a subject I enjoyed thoroughly. More so because I took classes from Mohapatra Sir. It was after the prelims that I took classes from him. I told Sir about my probl ems, how it is important for me to clear this time itself, and how I would be ne eding all the help he could offer. I also requested him to let me know the topic s he is going to keep for the last month, so that I can prepare my own notes for those topics. I prepared my own notes from different text books, and supplemented it with the class notes. Sir's notes were really refreshing ones compared to the direct topi c wise notes of mine and I believed I will be able to mix and match and ensure a good score. I am not sure how much there is a demand for it, but I have decided to upload al l my notes (not the class notes) on to scribd. Thanks to Amarjit for the help wi th scanner. I am also uploading the topic wise reading list that I followed. It is really wide and diverse. That is so because it is so! As I had mentioned earlier I am an avid reader and tried to read as many number of books as possible. I am not at all suggesting that strategy. It has definitely helped me gain knowl edge, but how much it helped me fetch marks, well...!!! I also downloaded a few handbooks/articles/book reviews/etc from net to suppleme nt the books. I used articles from net extensively for second paper, where we do not have a st andard resource. I would try to organize all the links. You will have to give me some more time for that. Please find the Topic Wise Resource List. You may find some very strange names like Fayeye, Abercombie etc. I will soon pu t a foot note, explaining these sources and if possible, provide with the links too. Also I have uploaded my notes for a few chapters. Please keep in mind that these are my own notes and not Sir's class notes. Topic 10 : Social Change in Modern Society I know, the signature in every page is irritating. But it was really painful to scan each page, then merge, and then upload. So I thought at least the name shou ld be there for some credit. I am really sorry for it though :) Please come back to this same page for the remaining uploads. Often, we cherish the goal, but hate the process. Please enjoy the process. Goal is nothing but the natural outcome. ( No pun inte nded!!! )
