RELIGION
1.The Philippines is a predominantly Christian nation on account of 300 years of Spanish rule. It is estimated that 81% of the population is Roman Catholic 2.The pre-Hispanic belief system of Filipinos consisted of a pantheon of gods, spirits, creatures, and men that guarded the streams, fields, trees, mountains, forests, and houses. Bathala, who created earth and man, was superior to these other gods and spirits. Regular sacrifices and prayers were offered to placate these deities and spirits--some of which were benevolent, some malevolent. Wood and metal images represented ancestral spirits, and no distinction was made between the spirits and their physical symbol. Reward or punishment after death was dependent upon behavior in this life.

FOOD/SHELTER
1.Philippine cuisine is distinguished by its combination of sweet, sour, and salty. 2. Vigan is the best-preserved example of a planned Spanish colonial town in Asia. Its architecture reflects the coming together of cultural elements from elsewhere in the Philippines, from China and from Europe, resulting in a culture and townscape that have no parallel anywhere in East and South-East Asia.

SECURITY AND PROTECTION

1.Anting-anting is an amulet, in scripted or engraved, worn as a neckpiece. It is most popular one used for exorcism of the hexed or bewitched, and also protects them from physical dangers. 2.In every barangay, there are people called tanod that watch the place to keep it peace and secure.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS
1.Northern most region of the Philippines, Luzon gets its Cultural influence from HinduBuddist, Spanish and many ethnic regilous tribes. All with differences and beliefs. But in all the Cultural and Folk Dances from this region represents all different factions in one way or the other. 2.Tinnikling is considered the national folkdance with a pair of dancers hopping between two bamboo poles held just above the ground and struck together in time to music. Originated from Leyte Province, this dance is in fact a mimic movement of tikling birds hopping over trees, grass stems or over bamboo traps set by farmers. Dancers perform this dance with remarkable grace and speed jumping between bamboo poles.

RELATION TO OUR FAMILY AND OTHERS

1.There is an equal opportunities between girls and boys. 2.Theres a sign of respect to elders we called mano, kind alike hand kissing but instead they put their hand to your forehead.

EDUCATION
1.Philippines doesnt have Middle School. 2. Students must pay to go to school.
