Position Description

Job Function The successful applicant will be an integral member in the Product Control team (Either FICC or Equities) within IB Finance, dedicated to the Product Control Group. The role is within the PC function of the PC team which is a centralised team within Finance to manage PnL production, substantiation and month end balance sheet sign off. Job Description The successful applicant will be a member in the Product Control group and will be responsible for the daily PnL, substantiation and month end balance sheet sign off. They will also assist with the break resolution, working with the upstream in fixing feed issues and improve productivity across the teams. Job Requirements This role requires a candidate with strong analytical skills and intermediate to advanced skills in: - Excellent understanding of security products like Equities, Bonds, CDS, IRS, Futures, Options etc - Good accounting skills - Microsoft Excel including knowledge of Excel Macros Other than these specialist skills, the team is responsible for the following key processes: - Daily Core P&L deliverables to onshore clients in Finance. Producing & reviewing daily PnL for designated trading books on a T+1 basis for trading done in Equity & Fixed Income products. - Reconciliation between Risk Management Systems and the Ledger/ P&L system. - Reconciliation of the PnL produced above to the PnL posted to the back office ledger - Investigation and correction of reconciliation breaks involving communication with onshore teams, other BUCs, operations, IT etc. - Review of control accounts, daily adjustments etc. - Specialist to deal with any issues, perform necessary investigations to ensure prompt resolution of P&L issues - Writing commentaries on large PnL swings, explaining in terms of book risk positions, PnL attributes and economic factors - Communication and escalation to offshore management Required Background - University education in Management/Economics/Accountancy or similar logical subject. B.Com/M.Com/MBA/PGDBM/CA/CPA (preferably a post graduate in Finance) - Good accounting knowledge & expertise - Reconciliation experience (but not reconciliations in AP/AR/Cash) - Proven experience and knowledge of MicroSoft Excel. - A key team player, with good communication skills and a strong work ethic. - An innovative approach and drive to address possible areas of improvement - Flexibility (ability to work extra hours when required, possibly at month-end or to cover for another team member)
