Topic: Types of Pronouns: Absolute Possessive (5-6 minutes) Pronouns are words that replace nouns in a sentence. They are used to avoid repetition of nouns in a sentence or a paragraph. There are many kinds of pronouns, one of which is the absolute possessive pronoun. The absolute possessive pronoun shows possession. Mine, yours, its, his, hers, ours and theirs are examples of absolute possessive pronouns. (Xxx.) Mine, yours, its, his, hers, ours and theirs Remember: Unlike possessive pronouns which function as an adjective, the absolute possessive pronouns are pronouns that can stand on its own.
