STRATEGIC INDIA-JAPAN COOPERATIVE PROGRAMME GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED UNDER CALL FOR PROPOSALS (2007) The Department

of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India and Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) have started a new programme for joint f nding of Indian!Japanese joint research projects in m t ally agreed fields to achieve world!class scientific res lts" leading towards new innovative technologies# JST and DST invite Japanese and Indian scientists $ researchers to s %mit proposals for cooperative research projects in the research field descri%ed %elow# An important criterion of the proposed colla%oration is that it sho ld % ild on and reinforce already on!going research activities RESEARCH AREAS COVERED & ltidisciplinary 'esearch (ield" which com%ines Information and )omm nications Technology with *ther (ields+ (& ltidisciplinary I)T) has %een identified as the field of research for the present call for proposal# PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS DST and JST invite Indian and Japanese researchers to s %mit proposals for cooperative research projects in the research field descri%ed a%ove# An important criterion of the proposed colla%oration is that it sho ld % ild on and reinforce already on!going research activities in each research gro p and contri% te significant added val e to these# 'esearchers from the ind stry may participate in the joint colla%oration# ,owever the -rincipal Investigator in India sho ld %e affiliated with a Government or Government recogni.ed research $ academic instit tion in a permanent position# APPLICATION Japanese and Indian applicants shall write a common application form that shall %e s %mitted to JST and DST in parallel# The application form shall %e written in /nglish# (or Japanese applicants" a Japanese version is also re0 ired# (or Indian applicants additional information may %e re0 ested if re0 ired# 1.
